Evo 7 full of problems, avoid! Go for 8 or 9. Having said that, more power can be extracted from the evo X. I had a TME, loved it.

Just watched the vid, nicely shot and different models explained. Yep I miss the rawness of my E46M3 and funny me mentioned that the E92 feels slow. I thought the same thing.

Get a couple of rubbish sacks..the lined ones. Go to air liquide and get dry ice pellets in them.

The importance of pre-purchase inspections/inspecting thoroughly

Bet you are glad you got the PPI done. Even though you would be covered by the CGA if you had purchased the vehicle it would have no doubt ended in a sh*t fight being decided by the disputes tribunal. Head aches you don't need really. -
Congrats on the 335, great looking and performing car.

PM me the details of the E46 M3.. if it's my old one I will let you know about everything.

I looked over it as well, like others have mentioned it is a bit rough. Haven't had it on a hoist so haven't checked bushes and other consumables. Would expect at those k's bushes and shocks are a deff replace if haven't been done already. Could be up for clutch as well and have rear subframe checked obviously. Good you will have some protection buying from a dealer should things go pear shaped. CGA ftw

I have used turner Motorsport for buying shocks and they ship to NZ. Quick shipping and good service.

They are very reliable. Spoke with transmission solutions recently and tech said the new product is superior to the vw group dsg. I've had the oil changed in mine recently at bmw and the dealer who told you it's over a grand is bull shitting you. They are a wet clutch system so can handle a lot.

I couldn't live with myself putting 91 in my M car.. I mean heck..I don't even put it in my v6 odyssey DD. Even the lawn mower gets 95 haha.
-
I never ran my E46 M3 on 95, sometimes on the Gull Force 10 product but I would get less fuel economy on the Gull product. If I remember correctly the E36 M3 with the evo engine had a sticker on the fuel gauge which said use 98 octane. Even my shitty Honda Odyssey gets fed 95 octane, in the owners manual thats the minimum RON to run on it. V6 Odyssey.

GT Refinishes on Walls Road Penrose. Grant is the owner. They do a lot of show cars. Good pricing. EuroTech, Sylvia Park Road. Very good work. Not cheap. They are the only BMW i Car panel & paint repairer
-
Just a random question to the OP.. Any reason why you don't run your M3 on 98 octane?

Have to agree with huff3r and kiwi535, 50 clicks above traffic speed whilst lane splitting is a recipe for disaster and probably pisses off cage drivers more than meandering past about 20-30 clicks. Some drivers are great with checking mirrors and giving a little extra room and then there are a few wankers that will do fake lane changes or try and squeeze you. At a set of lights it's a lot safer for the motorcyclist to filter to the front of the line. It prevents the rider from being rear ended by a distracted driver and allows a car to take the space that the bike would have occupied. The bike should be able to clear the intersection before becoming an obstruction to vehicles around them. Lane filtering has now become legal in NSW and in California it's a requirement that you move out of the way of a lane splitting motorcyclist. Anyway... my 10 cents.

Ok, so I went from the E46 M3 to the E90 M3, i liked the look of the sedan over the coupe, also the sedan is a more rigid body. I do miss the rawness of the E46 M3, I loved the rasp. I now love the sound of the V8. The V8 does enjoy drinking fuel more than the E46 M3. With the age of the E46 getting on a bit, plastic components are getting tired, all the bushes will need to be replaced, shocks will need to be replaced, window rubbers will be getting hard. I did all of the above with my E46. If you can get a late '08 onwards you will have CIC iDrive (HDD based) and a lot quicker than the CCC system.

I see you are on the coast, get hold of Hell BM in Silverdale. They are a sponsor and Ray @ Hell is extremely knowledgeable and won't take you for a ride. Would suggest getting a consult with him before you go eBay buying or Internet diagnosing.

Just an FYI and protect my ass, after reading that story I dropped my broker an email advising of window glass tinting on my cars. It's now been noted on my policy. The info my broker wanted was"Just wanted to check if your window tinting is within what is legally permitted in New Zealand, has it been professionally done and what is the cost to have it done (current market value)?" So you can see during a claim if the tint was was illegal and you put it on yourself you are giving an option for the claim to be declined.

I previously had SMG E46 M3, took an E92 manual M3 for a test drive. Purchased DCT M3. Great box, very strong with the wet clutches. In stop start traffic tap the accelerator which engages crawl mode till you apply the brake and come to a full stop. Handy for Auckland's on ramp control systems. The childish part of me really enjoys the throttle blips on down shifts when shirt mode is 4 or 5. Under that they don't occur. Around town in auto mode I have the shift program 2 selected. When feeling spirited in manual (paddle mode) I have program 4 selected. my 2 cents.

Depending on the style of the wheel I'm interested. Pic would be great thanks.

Before I purchased my E90 M3 I got a UK import version checked out. Would stay away from UK imports unless they are pretty much brand new. The corrosion due to salt use on the roads was all over different components. Even the top of the door hinges.

Awesome work Amber and a late congrats on the new toy. You dealt with me at your work, getting the e90 M3 tinted.

An Infringement notice for the above can be issued for laser jammers. Radar detectors do not interfere with speed measurement equipment. They are a passive device. Laser jammers on the other hand are active and transmit light. So no it's not illegal to use a radar detector. On a side note, come up against a good radar operator and no matter what detector you have it will be useless. Speed reading will be obtained at the same time your radar detector goes off.

This would be Mohammed Amil appearing on Fair Go with another case of customers car used and abused. http://tvnz.co.nz/fair-go/wednesday-august-22-5040973/video Funny how he says they have a one touch policy, obviously proven BS by dash cam footage.

how to re program the i drive radio to Oceania
jordan23 replied to loch130i's topic in General Discussion
The iDrive system doesn't have an M button so the above instructions won't be suitable to your 130i. Are you in Auckland Loch130i? If you are, may I suggest going to AutoGravity. They are a club sponsor and did a great job on my car with iDrive. Got navigation and radio all sorted. They are located on Dominion Road. http://www.autogravity.co.nz
