    95 E38 740i SOLD

I do a bit of possum trapping on the side. It's good pocket money and I enjoy being out in the bush. I really want a 4x4 van so I can get into some areas I really cant access in a 2wd V8 BMW..lol Some of the places I go to are so far away it makes scence to camp for a few days and I'm getting to old to be sleeping in a tent on the ground so a converted 4x4 van will be perfect. All the comforts of home but mobile and 4WD. Sounds perfect..:-)
  2. Pretty sure that was the L7 advertised on TM for a while. Not liking the addition of the M badges much..lol This little piece arrived yesterday so I can finally start getting the car back together again..

    95 E38 740i SOLD

Yeah. I've decided to keep the 750i after all. I need a van which will become my daily and given it's rarity the 750i makes more sense as a weekend cruiser.. It's taken a while for me to come to grips with it but at the end of the day I can always get another 740i, I may never find another 750i though.

    95 E38 740i SOLD

SOLD>> Selling my 1995 740i E38. I've had a lot of enjoyment out of this car but my needs have changed so it's time it went. It's done 219000kms and this will continue to go up as I drive it daily. Fresh WOF and about 5 months Reg left on it. Just had a oil and filter change done. Starts first time every time. This has been one of the most reliable cars I've owned. I've put in the chromeline interior and also fitted the wooden porn lights, wooden front map light with amber led's and wooden grab handles from a 750il. I've also fitted the 16:9 display. The wiring for the S/EDC above the shocks was perished so it's been disconnected so it's permanently in sport mode. I like it but it may be a bit harsh for some. The bad. It sometimes has the BMW shimmy between 80-95km. I may fix this before its sold but if I do the cost of parts and labor will go onto the purchase price. The paint is bad. It has crazy cracks on the boot, front of the bonnet and on one back guard but it hasn't gone through the clear coat. Caused by to much color coat so the paint couldn't expand and shrink in the weather(or so I was told). I'll take some pics. Still, for all its cosmetic faults it still cleans up nice. Will come with the Style 32's. The BBS RC's have gone onto another car so aren't for sale.
  5. So, the spark plug boot arrived and I was all yayyy, I can put the car back together. Looked at the spark plug boot and was all DAMN. I ordered part 9 which I needed. Didn't order part 6 which is a must have to attach the lead to the boot. If I'm lucky there might be one in NZ as it's not E38 specific. If not I'll have to wait another 2 weeks before I can get the car back on the road.
  6. So much want in one post. Looking awesome Martin.
  7. 12 new spark plugs are in. Just waiting for the new spark plug boot to arrive from Germany then I can start getting it all back together.. Cant wait. I've been missing it.

    E38 Trim

Pm me a pic of what you need. I have a couple of parts cars and will have what you want.
  9. Absolutely. I'd rather a manual over an auto any day. I plan to have a 6 speed E38 sometime in the near future.
  10. I used to have a Scirocco. What a great little car that was. BUT, it was little and very agile. Your new Bimmer is much bigger with a lot more weight to it. Give it a bit of time for you to get used to it and I'm sure you'll come to appreciate the car and the way you can drive it. I have just as much fun hammering my big E38 around the windy roads as I did in my Scirocco albeit a bit slower..lol Welcome to the forum and the joy of Bimmer ownership.
  11. One kinda goes hand in hand with the other..lol
  12. Picnic tables have been custom made but a nice touch. And I'm liking to 20 inch style 32's.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Plenty of knowledge here and I'm sure you'll find some helpful people too. Happy motoring.

    Quick rant thread.

I'm with ya on that one. I mucked it up so many times they put a hold on my account. Emailed them and 3 weeks later I get a notification that my account has been enabled again..
  15. I had a similar issue last week with someone merging onto the highway from a side road. No traffic behind me and a truck in front and this doofus came screaming up alongside and with lot of gesticulating and swerving in my direction managed to get between myself and the truck, but only because I was to tired to be bothered with a bit of justifiable road rage so I backed off and let him in.
  16. Welcome to NZ and the forum. Your going to have a bit of fun on some of the road around NZ. Lovely car you have. Enjoy.
  17. Welcome to the forum. I'm liking the color of your wagon. Very nice.
  18. Mmmmmm, 7 series. Purrrrty. Welcome to the forum and happy driving.
  19. Little bit of luv for the 740i.
  20. Saw this on TM and thought I recognized it from somewhere. Went digging back in one of my old threads and found it. Tidy 2001 728i http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1126549728.htm
  21. Oh, and sitting on BBS RC's. I'll take some better pics when it's out of the garage.
  22. So I delved into the 750i today. Not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Started with this. And got to this. All in an effort to get this out. Bonus for me was that someone has already been in there and replaced all the fuel and vacuum lines. It looks like the intake manifold gasket/boots are fairly new as well though I'll take them off and inspect them just to be sure there are no leaks.
  23. Are the signature pics coming back or gone for good? Also seem a lot of pics from one of my threads have vanished. Should I wait or edit the thread? Cheers.
  24. Awesome project you have going there. I'll be watching this progress with interest. Lots of pics as you go please.
