Welcome to the forum. Super nice looking E30 you've found yourself. The Wellington crowd is planning a road trip to drive the Gentle Annie. Would be nice to see your E30 in the mix.

Yup, If it sounds like that you've got no worries and one less headache..lol

The V12 starter motors do tend to wind up when starting. Here's the best vid I could find of the sound they make. It's pretty distinctive and way different to my old 740i.

Thats great news. Like Olaf I'm looking forward to seeing the Ute finished and then seeing what you do with the E38. Hopefully your first order of business will be the removal of the M badge..lol If you going to start collecting parts I have a Black leather dash and door cards for a il. Might also have the rear carpet section. Also have one of the rear footrests somewhere. Flick me a pm if your interested.

Luv the E34. Personally I've never been a fan of M-pars. I kinda like the wheels you've already got on it though as always we build our cars for ourselves. Yours is a stunning example. Well done.

Paraparas is always a nice drive in a god car. Did Sport mode come into play at all?

Yeah, they're a bit sensitive to low voltage. Hopefully that new battery has you sorted and you can enjoy the drive home. I luv doing trips in my E38.

Welcome to the forum. Theres a bunch of Auckland guys here who have monthly meets. Check out the meeting sub section for more info on that. I'm sure someone from up that way will chime in with info on where to get hoses. Post up some pics of your car when you can.

Welcome back Jim. I'm always happy to see more E38's on the forum. Post up some pics when you can.

The radio modules on E38s get dry joints and if it's toast will cause this problem. I've had a couple of E38's with sound that will cut out after 30 secs to a couple of minutes both caused by faulty radio modules. Alternately the Amps also have this problem but it's usually signalled by static and a lack of volume. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Sweet M3. I'm a fan. Welcome to the forum.

Been a while since I signed in. Looks like lots happening and I'll be very interested to see where you'll go with this. Given that I've liked all your other projects I'll be watching this one with interest. :-) You'll have some trouble finding a 750i as there were only 113 made in rhd and of them only 3 made it into NZ. But there should be a few 750il's floating around if you don't mind a few extra inches in the back door. Other than that there a a lot of 740i's that come up for sale and you shouldn't feel bad about modding one of them. I've wanted to something similar to this to one for a while now.

At 162k that engines barely run in. But like Kelvin said it's awfully rough. By the time you've done repairs and painted it and had it re-vinned will it be worth what you've spent? Does it have any desierable options. Rear seat package? picnic tables? There have been some nice ones come up on TM every now and then for under 5k. Having said that if you're wanting a donor car I have a 97 thats missing the interior but otherwise complete.

Wow, I got all excited about that till I saw the timestamp. Don't feel too bad Chris. We've all done something silly in public before..lol
-
I have a M73B54 still sitting in a 97 e38 with all modules there if you want it. Cheap..lol

Just cut the mufflers off and have some straight pipes welded on. But I would recommend having a listen to them on YouTube. Doesn't sound that good on the V12 to be honest.

One of the few cars I would consider giving up my 750i for. Congrats on your M5. You lucky bugger.

I have to agree with Michael. I've watched a few episodes of the grand tour and I found it to be a lot contrived. The trio were trying far to hard and the skits were way to over the top. There far more interesting content to be watched online. While I'm not really into fast fours I do enjoy watching Mighty Car Mods and particularly enjoyed the Mini turbo episodes and very much was interested in the Turbo vrs Supercharger MX5's. Interesting to see the differences in power delivery between the 2 on the Dyno and how that related to the track.

HI Ethan. Welcome to the forum. The Wellington guys are a good bunch and often have meets and outings. Have a look in the meetings sub section for info and updates about future get togethers. Nice e36 you have there. I dont think I've seen another one that colour.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find some very knowledgable people here with a lot of good advice. Hope you get your car sorted soon and are able to fully enjoy your lead foot.

I've seen this a few times. Jap import and garage queen. Both of which I dont understand. If your going to the expense of importing a car to put it in your garage and not drive you'd think you would buy a 740i that actually has some options in it. This one is the most base spec 740i I've EVER seen..lol Even with those K's it's not worth anything near that asking price.

There's hope for me yet then..lol Nice find on your part..
