  1. These are great. Friend has one. Commutes from Carterton to Wellington. Nissan Note Nismo https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/nissan/note/listing/4747590668 Nice interior, handle well, can go further than the shops and back. They are a series hybrid. So electric motors with a ICE generator.
  2. Big oil sale on at Supercheap auto Pretty much 50% off everything us bimmer fools would want to use. https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/

    1M addiction

My only issue with the 1M is that they are mostly owned by collectors. They would make a great car to modify and play with like the M3's and M4's. A B58/S58 swap would be great in these cars.

    Quick rant thread.

I stopped using them years ago due to a similar experience. It seems importing goods in a cost effective way has gotten much more narrow over the last few years. Just means everyone pays more. And trash like temu succeeds and in turn costs the country millions.
  5. Yeah sorry the figures I put up someone had rounded down to 5000lbs. Crazy weight. Seems there is very little innovation outside of slapping in a giant battery and an electric motor. 6. At 2.3ton. It's no dream of mine.
  7. Setup Bimmersport. Let dogs out of car.

Love it. DHL charges $7 per item on the waybill if there are more than 5 items. I have 11 items. Some are only $11NZD. They are slapping them with a $7 processing fee. The bonus. This is a hidden fee. They do not itemize it on your "Duty" bill. They do not mention it anywhere I can find on their website either. Check this out. So it was about $1500NZD. GST on Importation = 231.00 Entry Fee GST = 11.99 Entry Fee = 79.90 Multiline Entry = 48.30 Duty Tax Processing = 23.00

    Quick rant thread.

Customs stopped my parts order. It's unfortunately just over $1000NZD. I must provide them with my Customer Number if I have one or apply for a new one. I have one but need to confirm the details in the background are correct. They state this process takes 3 business days. DHL told me it has been taking them a lot longer. So it took 4 days including the weekend to arrive from ESTONIA. It's now going to sit at DHL until customs decides to reply to me. I am betting I don't see this package until the end of next week. If these parts were not nearly 3 x the price or substandard brands in NZ I would almost be deterred from buying them overseas.
  10. Blue Manual on marketplace. Facebook Marketplace 230kms listed at $8500 More realistic than the two that are listed on Trademe for $14k and $15K
  11. On board the M535. Lots of other amazing cars in the video too.
  12. We have micro switches at work that would be perfect for it to be capable of that. A mate and I actually use similar ones to build Sim switch panels for DCS (Combat Flight Sim). I would be just a matter of 3d printing a bracket to hold them below the factory trim.
  13. Came across this cool little project someone has made. Too fit atop their gear knob.
  14. Disgusting. All-new BMW 1 Series Premiere REVIEW 2025 with M135 (youtube.com) FWD platform. Halo's are gone. It's huge. Tacky capacitive touch screens. Petrol models no longer have an "i" in their name. 135 is 4WD only. The tacky eBay puddle lights come standard now... M-Sport seats look great though.
  15. I should also mention I do not have windows in my shed.
  16. The Field days sales have started. 15% off for the month of June from Totalspan so far.
  17. It is still doable. But a shed takes a bit more work to get it up to a comfortable room you can use for sleeping. I see you are in Otago. Insulate the roof of your shed. And seal all gaps. Install a decent sized heat pump. Nothing worse than your dream shed that you don't want to be in because it is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. I have airgaps where my roller doors meet the roof. This is normal. But absolutely useless when it comes to keeping bugs out and heat/cool in. I am in the process of finding a product to seal this up. Have your PA door open outwards. Mine is inwards and takes up precious space when open. When wiring the place up use only 15A plugs. They are not much more expensive. And then you can install single phase hoists. Good opportunity to install some automation. E.g. I walk in and the motion sensor that is part of the alarm turns my lights on. If there is no motion after a few hours it turns everything off. Grarage doors can be connected to these systems too. Meaning if you forgot to close it you can just hit a button on your phone. The motion sensors also alert me to when I have locked the bloody cat in there too. I run Home Assist on my server. But other systems like Smartthings are very easy to setup. Smoke and CO alarms should be installed. You can get smart ones of these too. That way you can be notified of smoke if you are not on site. Edit: Figure out where your hoists legs will be. Have them make the concrete thicker in those areas. Mine was another 75-100mm thicker where the legs of my hoist sits.
  18. This is my one. It is smaller than I wanted. But post covid prices were insane. I actually wanted another bay the same size. The far left bay is my workshop. Center is bike and car parking. Right has a four post hoist so I can park two cars. On the outside to one side will go a large carport. It's lined with 21mm ply and the floor is painted with aircraft hanger paint. Lots of things I would do differently. Will probably install a 2 post hoist in the middle at some stage. And maybe a wash bay in front as I hate washing cars on gravel. I thought about a sleepout off the side. But you really need to fit it out really well for them not to be noisy and cold. The fit out is expensive if you are not able to do it yourself. Heating / Cooling, ventilation for the garage side. Sealing the gaps. Electrical, internet (they act like a big Faraday Cage). Oh. And Do Not get skylights that are not UV proof. Mine were meant to be and are not at all. They are terrible in the summer. If you get good lights you don't need stupid skylights. I hate them. Edit: Play all the companies off against each other. They are all starting to claw for business after being lazy for the last 4 years. They all source their kits from the same places.
  19. Hey yeah I built one at the end of covid. Will dig up some pics and plans. Mine was a 3 bay, high stud with bays wide enough to open car doors.
  20. What codes are coming up? Wheel speed sensors are the most common failure for this type of fault. Easy replacement. ABS pump is a not a fun task.
  21. Umm. Love the "bends".
  22. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select Just make sure you select LCI if you have one. It will be a GM box.
  23. Its this one. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/4683469516
  24. I don't understand why you would want to do this auto to auto swap. The GM box is actually pretty good. It is common, cheap and changes pretty quickly when in sport. My one was even abused by only having 3ltrs of trans oil in it for quite some time. That was nearly 70,000kms ago. Still running good. All manual conversion parts I have seen are crazy expensive. You would be best to speak with Brent (BMWorld) or Ray (HellBM). It is why I snapped up this pretty average manual the moment I saw it. I could strip the box and conversion parts out and sell them for more than I paid. Turns out I feel sorry for it and am now fixing it up... Buy James 130i manual for $7k. Swap all your good bits into it. Sell yours.
