Yeah I agree with Jon. Most likely a dressed up stock E30. Engine, gearbox and Diff upgrades are always sort after.

I hear all the horror stories of VW ownership from a friend who works there. VAG's brands must attract the owners who fail to maintain them correctly.

Qualitat's bread and butter. And the sauce for that pudding. RS4's.

Clear the car through customs. Pay MAF fee. Pay GST. Once cleared organise a authorised transport company to pick it up and deliver it for you. You can't enter the warf to get it yourself. Then off to compliance. Hope like hell the graders did not miss any repairs. Register car. I hope the 530 was cheap. The prices of them are plummeting.

Reminds me of this last week. They mistook the stairs for a driveway. Which was 5m to the right. They went up a decent curb to get there. Was trying to make it to the Chinese supermarket.

I'm confused. Are you in South Auckland or Iran? I took my car off the market after 3 idiots wasted hours and hours of my time having a 28 year old car checked for problems. Then picking at everything I had already told them about, and then trying to offer me over a 3rd less than what I was asking after already dropping the price for them. I find with these sort of cars you need to just keep the sale on the down low. Avoid trademe at all costs.

She hates them more than I do.

Yeah that is Daves old car. Is a Singpore import. But a well looked after one.

At the moment I am just focused on not having a slower car than the Mrs. This is hard to do in anything BMW makes that I can afford. Turbo on the E34 should solve the problem.
-
I spose if I had a Mrs who was not interested in vehicles I would get her something beige like a Corolla or swift etc.. I would struggle to care about a car like that at all though.

She should be driving a BMW Glenn. I am pretty sure if you live in Torbay you are required to own one. I am forever stuck behind them.

Hey John, When I built my E30 series car I went to a local radiator shop. http://www.pakurangaradiators.co.nz/ I matched the current one up with one they could get from a supplier. Was the exact same radiator but was all metal. No BS plastic. I never had any heating issues in my series car in the 3 years I ran it. And last time I drove it under the new owner it still had the same one. A number of other drivers picked these up also. Make sure you get replacement hoses too.

I can't stand them. Though most of my hatred for them comes from the crap race series they had. A modern much more powerful car that was only slightly quicker than a 318i E30. Driven exclusively by cocky "Up and Comers". Taking up a huge amount of track time for only 6 cars that sound and look like sh*t. No passing would take place. Yep that is why I hate them. Plus they are always driven by boring women trying to hang onto their younger days by buying a "sporty" fashion accessory car. Though these women are outnumbered by Mazda 3 and 6 drivers who purchased them for the same reason.

Why not. If you want it as a tidy up project you will have a lot of fun. They are very simple and anything you replace will be rewarding. Step one. Replace all the cooling gear in the car. Go for an M30 variant if you can. Plenty of places still cover the E28. Full suspension replacement will have her driving like new. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-control-arm-upgrade-kit-e28-e24-meyle-e2816piece-my

Have my M325i here if you are keen. But I was going to chuck it up for $10500. Might be a bit pricey to strip down for a rebuild.
-
Close. That buyer got a good deal.
-
White on black? Mine is black on white. Must have changed it.

I would have thought around 13-16k for a Japanese import. Market was flooded with them for quite a while. Bloody buy right cars spamming the market.
-
Nice car. I was thinking about getting one of these to replace another car. I see so many $1 auctions pulled these days that it makes me wonder how many people actually bother following them.
-
Martin's was 9k. Then you have 16k to replace everything. There was also another for 8k. Both 535is.

The E60 does cover more of the screen than a conventional set up. But does miss that bit in the top right quite bad. Seems to chew through the blades a little faster though.
-
320 with 325 motor. Getrag 240 box. Wrecker told me motor only done 80ks. Body done 350,000. 8K or swaps for RFB.
-
M5 Money. Ok then.
-
Saves money on having to find RHD wiper blades like on Mercs.

3 Series Life. Should have got a 5 Series. Doesn't happen on my E60.
