Wheel Alignment Places - North Shore/Auckland
Driftit replied to duvey's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Most shops will give you the standard alignment the machine tells them to. Tyrepro was one of these from past experiences. Got it sorted by Autolign/Racelign on Carbine Road. Though I was not getting a stock setup. I would go to the effort of seeing Peter and Graham Ball at P&S Autocenter in East Tamaki. They are very very good. There is a reason why pretty much all the BMW racers out East go to them. Place you can head out to Kaiawa afterwards to test it. -
I was going to try shipto next time around. In a few weeks.

Youshop is sh*t. Overpriced, Slow, doesn't consolidate items. E.g. The mrs ordered some small items in the states from Amazon. 3 items sent and 1 was on back order and got sent on its own. A $5 nail polish. Because they don't consolidate they wanted $15 to send a tiny extremely light box with a nail polish in it. In the end it cost more in shipping due to Youshops extreme prices than the items cost total. And it took 2 weeks to get them here. They got to keep the nail polish.

Pretty old car. Surprised anyone would have one for rent.
-
Nice. Reminds me of Youshop. But everything that was sent there was accepted by the new resident when Youshop had moved. 100's of packages went missing.

Spent Xmas/New Years down in the Waiarapa and Wellington. Did not see one decent BMW the entire time and we did a lot of driving. What's going on down there.
-
Keep your eyes peeled. They will show up on another E30 or some Honda.
-
The body kit, motor, gearbox are worth more than 1K individually.

I did inform a friend of mine who is actively looking for a vehicle like this. Not sure where he is getting his prices from but seems to think it is nearly $15K over priced. He is negotiating to import one from the UK himself. Just some feedback if you are interested.

Yeah you are right. Respray for sure. Would explain why the paint is in such good nick. Or it had rust in the roof.
-
Great color. But not even close to the claimed 'Most Original etc'. There is a couple of concourse quality E30's around. One doesn't even look like its ever been on the road. That one looks like it has had a few changes made over the years. I wouldn't pay that much for a 4 door non motorsport.

Wouldn't you have to remove most of the center console to make it fit Passenger Seat replacement Clip in

Don't book with Play day. They make it so much more expensive than it needs to be. For no extra benefit. Book a cheap track like Puke. See how it runs. Then book Taupo. Hampton is overpriced and IMO is not a very good/fun track. It is my least favored track I race on. I went to an Airforce/Navy twilight track day a few weeks back at Puke. Was $70. Got more laps than the car could handle.
-
Most incidents at a Public track day only involve one car. It is uncommon for someone to hit another car. And it sounds like Ashkans mate had the same experiance as mine at the Superlap day. Stuff all track time is a real let down at any track day. I have found that you don't get that much bang for buck at the Playday days either. Can also get crowded. Running a Bimmersport day is a no go too. No commitment from anyone. You could see if Euro club would have the numbers. And the last Bimmersport day we had in Taupo someone rolled their E46 on Lap 1.

E30's are better and cheaper over there. WTF is wrong with him.
-
Haha they do more than that. Poor Aaron Harris got a big slap on the wrist for braking hard before going over the line so as not to Break Out. And I have to call you out on the more race cars crashing than road cars. I know you have been to one of Henry's track days at Puke. Not uncommon that 5 cars will be upside down on their opening lap all before lunch. Haha. Try and find the private track days Amber. A group of friends hire Taupo track every year. Only 30 people we trust to be there. I am sure you can organise something like that. Puke is cheap. And they do Twilight sessions. Hampton is usually out of reach for small groups. With our day we run an open pit. Everyone runs through at least 1 tank of gas. Can see it now. 15 mins track time. 6 hours of them trying to explain why their model of super beetle is better than the identical one next to it.

My E30 Series car cost me $9K to put on the road. And was a front running car. The E30 series is amazing and so much fun. I sold my "Track" car to build my E30. Never looked back. My Mrs has been thinking of selling her 270rwkw track/street car to start racing properly too. And she will have twice the fun even though an E30 is 237hp less than her current Nissan. I wouldn't go looking for a series to race in unless you have a dedicated car. Just attend open track days or try and get an invite to private ones.

Seats are steering wheel are much better too.

The BMW race series isn't run by the BMW car club. But as all race series entrants require a motorsport affiliated car club we all have BMW car club memberships. Put a cage in it and enter Group B. I looked into the time attack event a little while back. Was impossible to get any info from them. Results were available with digging around on Facebook but NO times were listed. For a Time Attack event I would have thought the Times were most important. A friend ran his Type R Integra in the street class a while back. There was 3 cars in the class. He sat around most of the day and got a couple of very short runs. Said he would never bother again. Also Tom. The horrible sounding front tugging Honda's are only faster as we have minimum time restrictions in the BMW series. They don't. Plus they are Honda's. Nobody cares how fast they are.

Yeah I used Amazon to source the two spoilers for my E60. Just check on the companies feedback. Shipping can be more than the item.
-
I could never bring myself to pay that much money for an E36. Unless it had the only thing special one E36 model comes with. An S motor. But I can imagine there were people in the past who thought the same about the E30 wagon. And look at the stupid money they go for now.

There is another airbag recall. If they were 8's and 9's around $1400 and I would be keen. But just 8's I would say a lot less and I am not keen. Is pretty hard to get people to part with 17x9 BMW wheels.
