Headlight Restoration deal on Treatme
Driftit replied to lord_jagganath's topic in General Discussion
Is around $150 through GT Refinishers in Penrose. They do a great job. -
Right out the end of Halsey Street Warf. Works both at night and during the day. City as a background. Plenty of space. https://www.google.co.nz/maps/place/Halsey+St+Wharf/@-36.840466,174.7602322,19z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x6d0d47f6497e405f:0x368e00c6655a36a9

Ah yeah that makes sense. Cheers Brent.

Another heads up. Kiwishippings Prices have increased significantly recently. So if you are around that $400 mark including shipping make sure you have the right shipping price. For Ebay I never have them ship my items internationally. There is always insane shipping rates involved. Contact the seller and make a deal outside of Ebay if you have used them before. I didn't know about this dodgey shipping policy though. It makes no sense at all. There is no way Ebay would be handing money to NZ customs. And NZ customs has an archaic IT system that would have no communication with Ebay. It would be interesting to see if someone was charged twice. Once by customs and once by Ebay.

I have asked a question. Awaiting reply. But one major issue with BMW lights is that the clear coat fails. Not the plastic. Most places will just polish/cut off the old clear coat. This makes the lights look great for about 3 months. Then the plastic starts to get damaged. They need to be re-cleared. There is a way around this however. You can buy a product like this. And apply it every few weeks. http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical_Guys_WAC_118_16_JetSeal_16_oz_p/wac_118_16.htm -
There was an E34T M5 for sale in Japan not long ago for between 20 and 30K landed. I think it would be worth double or more imo. Had the 3.8 too.

On this topic. Back when I was a youngin my Grandfather and Father imported a 5 series from South Africa. It was apparently a bit of a mix between an E28 M5 and the E12 MLE. This car was sold in Auckland in the mid 80's. It was Green (Reason why it was sold). Does anyone have an idea of what it would have been? Did the saffa's mix the models and parts? It had some boogey that's for sure. I remember Dad hooning it around. Does anybody know of any MLE's in NZ?

Yeah that combo I would only want to see on a Jag or Aston. Not a BMW. I had black and tan in my e39 and it was horrible.

Check if the PFL one will fit. If so you can have it for $60 + Shipping from Auckland.

M10 is a great motor. With a ton of work Mike Delmont is going back to M10 blocks on his 600hp 2002 Turbo. His car was eating S14 blocks.

VAC in the states will have all the required parts for a proper rebuild TJ. They are very well known for high powered well build BMW motors. You could always send it to them to rebuilt. They do a heap of international builds.
-
I see them driving around more that you would think. Not as cool as Glenn's E36 328Ti though.
-
Seen a few on Ebay recently. UK and US ones. Also a few S85B50's for less than 10K. Do the conversion I say There would be many a BMW mag chasing you for a story.
-
PM'd you both. Cheers, Dan

Its all to do with resolution. 1080p will look much clearer on your TV than 720p. 30fps vs 60fps is to do with how smooth the video will be. 30fps tends to make fast movements look blurred. 720p @ 30fps is pretty basic. But not bad for that price. If you are doing any action sports I would look for something with at least 60fps. The cheap Go-Pro or Sony Action Cam will be suitable.

Have updated the list of parts and adjusted some prices.

Ahh the Golden Years.

Isn't the E34 box a Getrag 265 and the E30 a 260? Could be different ratios.

He moved to Aussie as far as I am aware. Saw him at the racing not long ago. Geoff might be able to get you in contact. His profile is linked below. http://bimmersport.co.nz/user/5339-fiat-131r/

Merc is something different. At that price it could be driven the way it was meant to be. Everybody in NZ is too precious with their M3's and no one drives them the way that made us love them anymore. That makes them boring. There is a few great race cars however.

That's E60 530D money. Bound to be another E60 530D M show up sometime soon.
-
You can also buy one of these in good nick and you have 20K left out of an average E30 M3 budget. 20K can buy some pretty decent upgrades.

Was Scott raping it just a little?
