I had a CSi so Im a big fan, even of the pseudo 850i CSi, but LHD is a big turn off and LHD + Manual even more so. I think it would be really odd to swap gears with the wrong hand?

Pretty much doubled the price due to manual but took nothing off for lack of MSport and those wheels...

Yeah, seems to have no clue on what a CSi is either. I checked the VIN and its all legit. Not sure on the logic by the seller of listing all 3 at the same time given the limited market here.

I'm not convinced my modded e36 msport seats will pass cert so what else out there that fits? Ideally sports and leather.

Yeah I actually think it looks kinda cool, but an Automatic 5 speed M52 (IRC) 2.5 litre with all that kit screams show-not-go. That lot on a 540i Manual would be a lot more beastly as they put it.

The Phaeton was VW's ultra luxury car, to compete with the S-Class, 7 Series, A8 etc. Shares the same platform & parts as the Bentley Flying Spur.. a poor man's Bentley! This would be a great buy for someone that has outgrown the Golf R32 (same engine) or Passat R36 or just wants something more unusual than a big Merc or BMW. This particular model is a Singapore Import, was owned by an executive limo company. Phaetons are all pretty decked out and this one is no exception (& has a few extras): 3.2l VR6 Engine - sounds as amazing as it does on the R32. Easiest & cheapest to service. Chain driven. 4 zone independent climate + rear climate screen Premium 14-way electric seats: heating, cooling & massage functions (front & rear!) Side Sunblinds + rear blind is electric Put the alternate front grille (from V10 model) I saved from when I had one of these in Europe, 8 years ago but looks fresh! Loooong Wheelbase model, stupidly huge rear seat room Double Xenon, Dipped & Main beams are Xenons which is pretty rare, but effective. Sunroof, Parking Sensors, Electric Folding & heated mirrors, Infotainment, CD Changer Auto close doors (aside from drivers) 4 Motion AWD - proper mechanical Torsen based, quattro type as in A8 Air Suspension, self levelling, adjustable heights (for snow, floods etc) Genuine Audi RS5 19" low offset wheels, were new, look amazing 4x Pirelli's, near full tread Servicing; I did the following (& have receipts etc): Complete front suspension arms upper and lower! For sure, Ive had 2 (manual and auto), both great though last one was too boganed out by PO. Id love a nice, clean 540i E34 Touring.

Yeah I did those things on theirs too, but should couldnt find where else the water was ingressing. I kinda think it was the rear of the pano roof, not channelling into the water drains at all but running down the C pillars. It got so mysterious that if the car was parked a certain direction beside house wall it probably wouldnt happen!

Add to that, relocating or plastic wrapping all of the insanely positioned modules in the boot from the pool of water that forms there. My parents E61 would regularly go haywire electrically (as in power steering stopping, engine errors) due to the stupid boot water.

Having owned many E60 and E61's I too was amused by the notion it was the lesser technology, purist choice. Pricing, well we all have our opinions, but I think another angle to look at it is placement in market, it should be priced between the C6 S6 and C6 RS6. Which this isnt.

It was last week but I was still just a bit confused. It was for a non-BMW (VW Phaeton) content but I explicitly checked the rules on the Forsale forum, no mention of exclusively BMW only content. They are both BMWs and M5s. Its special yes, but the league its in vs the V8 Twin Turbo that succeeded it objectively worse in every performance metric. I just watched CarWow's E61 M5 vs RS6 C6 and MB E55 Wagon drag race and.. um, not a great result for the M5 other than it sounded great. Whats nice about the E6x M5 V10 however is the exclusivity, I kinda feel the Twin Turbo V8 in the new 550i is not really that different than its M5 V8 sibling. The numerous marks and damage to the front bumper is taking thousands off this (which isn't reflected in the price), not only is it stuff to repair right off the bat, it doesn't send a positive message to its quality of life. If it was me I would either run it as an auction starting way lower or fix that bumper. I think the Touring bumps the price by 15-20% if you find a buyer. At the current price, they are looking for nearer 35% premium, at which point one could buy an M5 Sedan and a 550i Touring and just have their cake and eat it.

I think there is only one good (as in quality of parts) answer: https://www.iemotorsport.com/product/sport-springs-e28-e24/ Ireland Engineering custom (ish) E28 Springs plus Bilstein B8 Sports Shocks. Not extreme (barely even the 1inch they claim drop) but actually good suspension. Seeing you are looking at Coilovers and Track usage however, maybe you want something more extreme. Ive done these and also the E34 Brake upgrade and the Alu control arms. Its also getting finished soon (Covid, cert pending) with an M54B30 engine and manual. Then maybe upper strut braces front and rear.

Yeah I found a bunch like this to convince him to list it for about 3weeks. Super painful, maybe if he wasn't in WA.. Ozzies don't seem to want to put in any travel effort. The end result was a bunch of people talking sh*t about import BMW's (vs all those made in Australia BMW's..), wanted bearings and other of the "big 3" pieces of work on this engine done. He did have subframes done but they still wanted them redone or some sh*t. Absolutely pitiful bunch, maybe one or two are selling for those figures but generally in our experience a dealer might get $35 to $45k in Oz, eventually.

Hmm, kudos to the owner for the big balls of it all but I have to boggle at the idea of a tow bar/towing on a highly strung naturally aspirated V10 with its infamous gearbox. The 550i would probably be a better tow car.

E46 Manual M3? They definitely are not $80k in Oz. My brother couldnt get an offer over $25k in Perth about 6weeks ago and ended up trading in. I was expecting high $30's being an option by way people speak of them. His was waaaay nicer than this one too.

I had an 850CSi for 7years, always thought if I went back to an e31 it would be an 840/v8... I'm impressed by that example!
