  1. Interesting vid from the guys at Eurotuner magazine taking an E36 325i to a trackday and installing bolt-on mods as the day progresses to see how much they can improve their lap times. Pretty impressive.
  2. Someone email this to David Thorne... he would have a field day.
  3. Spotted Josh's S50B32 E30 in the Performance car mag. Bought it to read the article - which was quite poorly written (but that's not your fault Josh, all the articles in NZPC are). Sweet shots though. Also realised I had worked with the covergirl chick at a Hydraulink store opening on Friday arvo too... nice girl, very chatty.
  4. How long is a piece of string? Some bits from the Total BMW buyer's guide: E34 M5's were the last handbuilt M cars, and the S36 and S38 engines are very highly strung. S36 is said to be more reliable. They need specialists to work on them and rebuilds can be prohibitively expensive. The self-levelling suspension is REALLY expensive to repair if it goes wrong. But you can replace these with standard aftermarket shocks made for the M5. Radiators are unique to that model... so will be hard to find. As is the exhaust. In short... they can be cheap to buy... but you'll need a deep wallet to maintain one.
  5. Nothing AC Schnitzer about that car apart from the wheels and some badges.

    V6 MINI

That is an utter abortion of a car. And the fact it has (I'm guessing) a Holden V6 in it makes it even more so.
  9. This has been discussed pretty recently... can't find the thread though. You will need the specific 6 speed box for the E39 540i... they are very rare and you will need to source it from either the States or Germany. You will also need to find someone who is able to sort out the electronics side of things. (Re-programming the car to accept the manual box basically). Cost... ummm, dunno... but would be a five figure sum. General consensus is save up for an M5.
  10. I'd say the viscous fan is shot.

    Quick Questions

If you're a d*ck... you get a warning. Once you get 100% warning you get the banstick.
  12. Images just need to be 800x600 or smaller... not sure why you're unable to load the 160px images? As you can see below I've uploaded a 160x120 image and a 800x600 image.
  13. Welcome Jake... Post some pics... make sure they're 800x600 or they won't upload.

You could ask "Shady" about welding the rear doors shut.

    Sobering reminder

Yes, chain email. Recalled getting this when I used to use Netscape Navigator to browse the internet!
  17. Check out the dealer's other listings... he has a standard spiel for all the cars and just changes out a few words. ("good" not being one of them)

    WTB: e30 M325i

Buy mine! Not M325i... but 4 door practicality, engine rebuilt by racecar mechanic and lots of sexy bits. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=351611811
  19. EDIT: After a bit of searching for the old thread... I remembered that the strikes through zero's didn't start until the "PC1XXX" range of plates. That's why it's like it is. I'll retract my Q from his auction.

    Random Qustions

Try Party Warehouse on Blenheim Road, if they don't have them they will be able to put you in touch with someone who does. Failing that... just run into a bank and steal one of theirs!
  21. Go see Kane at Mag and Turbo on St Asaph St.... they work with a good engineering firm who does that sort of stuff. Or Elite Wheels on Annex Road, but they may be a bit more expensive.
  22. I've seen E36's with E46 M3 steering wheel conversions.... no idea if the airbag still works though and how much work is involved.
  23. Bump... put the price up a bit on TM to stop all the low-ball offers from idiots. Will leave it at $7,750 for Bimmersporters.
