For reals Alpina... oh to be rich.

Front spoiler - Tech 2 M-Tech item Rear spoiler - Looks to be a Tech 1 item Badge - Fake Alpina. But hey.... someone named Graham Henry used to own the car... must be worth heaps!!!

So, I take it you got your money back?

Drove this car when it was for sale in Chch. Was a bit rough then in terms of bodywork and engine/underbody maintenance, it appears this guy has put a quite a bit of work into it. Was for sale for 5k ono then... with reserve not met at 8k here it seems he's trying to recover some significant costs from maintenance.

Step 1: Sell car Step 2: Buy same model car with larger capacity engine. (328i / M3 ) Step 3: Enjoy.

If you can't find the glass paint... you can have the rest of mine. Drop me a PM if you get stuck. Also have a set of Motorsport springs for sale that may drop your ride height a little (usually 20mm lower than stock)

I bought a can of the Plastikote paint less than 3 weeks ago at Mitre 10 mega in Hornby, seems strange they don't have it anymore. As for the front lip and skirts... you can get paint matched and put into an aerosol can at Spraystore on St Asaph Street. I'd say allow 2 - 3 cans for the front lip and both sideskirts. Both parts should only be held on by clips. You may need to replace some clips if they break or snap when removing the parts.

Uhhh... you do realise you're not comparing apples with apples. The E34 is a mid-sized sedan car designed in the mid-late 80's. The E46 is a small sports coupe/sedan designed almost 10 years later. Not to mention the fact the M54 only puts out 50 less horsepower than the V8 in a substantially lighter car. It's 0-100 time is also only 0.5secs slower than the 540i. I mean if you don't want the car, I'll happily take it off your hands for you.

^ Yep tailpipes are supposed to be black. You can get factory chrome sleeves for them however. Nice car, did you convert to 5 speed yourself?

Double rate of clicking generally means a bulb has blown. If it only does it sometimes then it maybe a bulb that isn't seated correctly or a wiring issue. I'd check that no bulbs are blown first. If no luck there then try lightly sanding and cleaning all the bulb contacts with a little CRC. Check the condition of the wiring harnesses while you're at it. Oh, and also that the fuses that deal with the indicators are seated correctly in their slots.

Small flat head screwdriver with tape on it so you don't scratch anything.

200hp at the wheels for $1500??? It's possible...but either you'll pop the engine in 5 minutes or slide your 23 year old "stock-standard-apart-from-the engine" car into a tree. Save some $$$, buy a better car.

Pics uploaded to the forums must be 800x600 pixels. If the pics need to be any bigger you need to upload them to a 3rd party photosharing website (Photobucket etc) and then post the image links here.

^If it's really only done 36,000kms then I think that price is a bargain. Would need to be kept as a garage queen though and I'm assuming you want a sedan so that it can be used as a daily to get the kids to and from school in record quick time?

That old chestnut. May the flamewar now commence.

Moved thread for you mate, and good luck with the project from an ex-owner of a Saffa schwarz E30.

Remove the chrome bumper. There are four bolts holding it on. One 10mm bolt behind each front arch and two 13mm bolts behind the bumper near the rego plate surround. Will be easier if you can get the car on jackstands. However I've done it before with the car on the ground, just got my lanky arm up behind the front kit while gripping a socket wrench.
-
Why the need for the bathplugs on the spokes? Would not look bad without them.
-
There's only one style of M-Tech kit for the E36. Only difference is that some front bumper covers have slat grilles while others have mesh. It is easy to swap one for the other however.
-
What colour is your car? And how modified is it? I'd say go with option 5 without seeing the car.

Clothes maketh the man. Wheels maketh the E28.
-
^ Huh? 4 bolts each chair and done.... why so hard? :/
-
Hmmm... how much you want for the Hartges Atta? We have another E28 in the garage in need of some decent rolling stock.

Really dislike the wood-look vinyl on the headlights and C pillar vents.... other than that looks good.
