I like. Rack are too high though, look like you have a table sitting on your roof. Also, needs more low. EDIT: Maybe iS lip to help perceived lowness? Oh and Europlates and redded tail lights.

Thought about buying these instead of refurbing the RS's... but then I thought I might regret selling the RS's so I didn't. ^Self "cool story bro"

Looks like you're right David I found this on Wikipedia... so an illegal plate on a dodgy car. This is very intriguing.
-
The car pictured is the car for sale. If it was the original plate it would have a strike through the zero to distinguish it as such. Interesting theory on the car conversion. A quick VIN check should sort that out though.

Same thing happened to me a few months back. Rear quarter window smashed, nothing taken except a camera charger (what the hell use is that without the camera to go with it!).

This car has been on and off Trademe for years. Last time it was listed with different photos and was a classified advert. He was asking for $10,000 I don't think the plate deal is anything too dodgy. A previous owner (or perhaps current owner) let the rego lapse and wanted the original plate back, they couldn't do so, so got a personalised version as close as possible to the original.

I'm not a fan of badges regardless... but anyway, congrats Jason on the new purchase, looks very tidy. I look forward to having a squizz at the Timaru meet.

Fixed.

OP - Have merged your topics. Please don't create another thread on the same topic. Your original thread in the Want to buy section is in the correct place. Cheers!

Jetta just needs coilover sackage and stretch.

I don't want to step on your toes, as everyone has a different style of writing and I know that if we all wrote blogs and articles the same way it would be rather monotonous. However, here's how I would've written your opening line. You had: "Late in the heat of a very humid, very Auckland-like Thursday afternoon I arrived at a rather plain-looking commercial garage block. Where a dreary looking building housed by far one of the most well thought out and well designed machines I had ever seen." I would have written: In the damp of yet another humid Auckland evening I arrived at a block of garages planted on industrial land near (suburb). Housed in one of the dreariest looking buildings was a vehicle that belied its surroundings: A Formula SAE car that is one of the most well-thought out and well-designed machines I have ever seen. Looking at the two together there's actually not an awful lot of difference between them. In your version I didn't like how it is actually one sentence split in two. Also, the way you used "plain-looking" and then "dreary-looking" within a few words of each other I felt was rather clunky. Hope that helps. I write for radio mostly so my ability to write long form has suffered a bit, but I'm happy to help out any time. - Mark.

Overall it reads well. There are perhaps some issues with how it flows (I had to re-read a couple of sentences to understand what you meant). Also, I feel you might be trying too hard to shoe-horn funny similes into the article. Oh, and there are a few spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and missing words here and there. But that's just me being the anal copywriter that I am! I like your article subjects and you have a good knowledge of the technical side of things. I like your style of writing too. Nicely done.

Bigger wheels won't fix your ground clearance problem. No matter the size of the wheel, they have the same or similar rolling circumference as a factory wheel and tyre. All that happens as you increase rim size is that the tyre size gets smaller. If the rolling circumference of the wheels was different you'd have all sorts of problems with your speedo being out of whack etc. To fix your problem you need to replace your springs with ones that aren't so low.

What a stupid bitch... even more stupid for posting it for the world to see. Risking others lives isn't cool.

Well done Jimmy. Now you can spend even more time in the garage while Clare has about a million coffee dates with all her friends to tell them she's engaged! BTW I can only see one photo by clicking that link....are there more?

I'll just add that it won't be a copy of any current show on television. It must be an original idea to satisfy the production company's brief. Sorry Paul... the ti stays unpimped for now!

Just doing a bit of research on a secret squirrel project and I thought I'd get some opinions from fellow car nuts about what you would and wouldn't like to see in a locally made television show about cars. The only constraint is that it will be a reality television format. So no big budget Top Gear stuff, however elements similar to segments of Top Gear could possibly be included. So on to the questions: - What are/were your most favourite car based shows and why? - What are/were your least favourite car based shows and why? - With regards to car-related programming on television currently, what would you like to see more of? - Is there anything that would put you off watching a New Zealand made reality show about cars? - Putting aside your own personal opinions, what type of car-related show do you think would attract the largest viewing audience? Feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you wish and add anything else you feel relevant as well! Would love to hear your thoughts.

^ Yes. Modded Xbox's can work online for a while, but you'll soon get banned and from then on the console cannot be used to acess Xbox live.

C'mon lads, let's play nice. As has been said in many threads of this ilk. A car is worth what someone is willing to pay. Atta found more than one buyer willing to pay his asking price. In hindsight he could have got more, but we never have the benefit of hindsight at the time do we? He could have asked for megabucks and waited for a drooling enthusiast to write him a blank cheque but he wanted to sell quickly in order to move to bigger and better things, and he achieved that. End of story.

Hey Glenn, anyone on your waiting list keen to buy my car? Seem like there's some people with a bit of cash out there!
