I'm in the slow process of tracking down parts to make my E30 tidy, but not mint. It needs a paint job, which is coming at the end of the year, and a new dash, seats and carpet to make me happy. Mechanically it's in very good condition though, and drives very well. Once I've done all that I will try for as close to $6,000 as possible. That's quite a long shot though. There is a limit to how tidy you can make a car (especially an E30) before you erode the essence of it. I like the idea that an E30 can be slightly rough, yet it will drive you to the moon and back. Maintain it, enjoy it, but do not make it a pristine car that only sees the light of day once a month. Fair enough if that is your thing though.

That's getting damn cheap

Can't wait for it. Annoyingly enough it's being released right in the middle of my exams. Physics in GT5:P sh*t all over the likes of Shift and Forza 2/3. I play using a G25 (at a mates), which I think is essential for a game like this. Not everyone can spend $500+ for a cockpit, but you can get a secondhand 900deg Logitech Driving Force Pro off trademe for under $100, and these are still widely used in the sim racing world. I've got one here and I rate it.

Whoah. That car makes me contemplate keeping my E30..

That sucks hard. Post it up on NZ Hondas, they will have loads of scouts out there.

I paid about $30 for a new slave through BNT, mind that was trade price. Though everyone knows someone that can get them trade

3" Percussive maintenance will make them fit

I think he's aiming for a different market. The way I see it, there are two loose groups of people that buy E30s: 1. Enthusiasts (us, I hope) 2. Everyone else We would think the car is overpriced, because we probably scour trademe/sella/this forum all the time so we know what the going price is, but the general car buying population would see a tidy RWD manual with 17s and see a fair price.

I'll take the blue door cards if they're in good nick. I'll just have to figure out how to get them to Hamilton. Hmm, Dutchy?

The Japanese tests for the V35 got somewhere around 8.7L/100km combined at the time, and slightly lower for the 2.5. It was in one of my old HPI magazines. So given you're driving sensibly and spotting in advance when you have to slow down etc, 1100km out of 70L shouldn't be too hard. Hell, our old M20B25s can get down to 8L or under on a long trip, and this is with ~15 years of advancements and a very low drag.

Huge difference. If your linkage was like mine, ie. 20+ years old and loose as, then it will make a world of difference.

Have good condition ones for $60 or there abouts. PM me. Cheers

UK E30: Needs battery Rear window regulators SA E30: Carpet Unripped interior Couple of rust holes fixed Bits of interior trim Paint! Probably a huge list of things I forget, and then regard as "character"

I also have an engine, F/L 190km runs mint, $600 if you get someone to take it out
-
You animal! How long did the locked diff last?
-
Lots. You'd be better off purchasing a second-hand engine, IMO. You could probably buy 5-6 engines before you approach the cost of a full rebuild, depending on what hs actually been rebuilt. It differs from shop to shop.

Veels geluk met jou verjaarsdag!

I'll dig some pics up this afternoon, I had plans of doing just this. I don't like the door pods myself

Well I was visiting a mate in hospital, and on the walk back to my car about half an hour ago I noticed some f-wit has stolen my front is lip. It's a long shot I know, but if anyone in the Hamilton area knows or sees anything, please PM me. As you know these were quite expensive so I'm extremely pissed off to say the least. Thanks

Ah, this is in Glasgow street in Tauranga. He is very car enthusiast friendly.

Going to VTNZ I find is a lucky dip. You can get a good inspector that will only fail you on major things, where as sometimes you will find an inspector that wants to cause you major inconvenience by citing tiny parts as seriously making your car unsafe. Hmm. I've always been fine with VTNZ myself, even with my 'boyracer' cars, but I have an independent testing station for my wofs now.

I ran an auto E30 325i for nearly a year. Well, I've still got it. I need to sell that thing actually.. and the only things that have bothered me is a hard time starting every few days (it still always starts though) and.. a ponderous overdrive every now and then. That's it. Not too bad for a 22 year old car, which is cheaper than most corollas I see around.

What is the brake proportioning valve? If you tell me/take a pic I can have a look at the parts E30 tomorrow and tell ya. edit: Oh, and the shroud thing. Not entirely sure what bit that is?

Just before anyone else says so, you need to post a price mate. Car looks relatively tidy. Good luck with sale
