  1. Im considering a E90 M3, I do really like the car, mostly the engine. What I am not sure I can live without is the modern features I have grown accustom too with my better equipped modern cars over the last 6 or 7 years, it seems BMW don't give you much OEM compared to "lesser brands" costing as low as $20k new. The main one that I don't think I can now live without is a proximity key, it sounds funny but I have got used to simply walking up to my car, having it unlock, jumping in and simply hitting the start button. Others are auto wipers and lights but I am sure the M3 has these? Has anyone retro fitted this system to their E90? From what I can see it was a rather cheap option, I can't fathom why it wasn't optioned factory, you have to consider a Toyota Yaris has this standard. Also considering a E39 M5 but I am not sure I can go back to a car that is essentially 20 years old underneath. Thanks
  2. Ha, true, some big blokes out there in racing, it affects the way they drive too, I have seen it first hand. I am at 78kg, have lost 12kg over the last year, cheaper than carbon fibre but hard work. Next weight reduction step is to find a skinny girl who is not afraid of sitting in a rally car that can read pace notes and then marry her... Its rare but there are a few out there. Rally cars are generally heavy, you can't cut as much out as they have to be road legal and reliable, not to mention reasonably comfortable as you will travel unto 600km a day, possibly 300km of special stage a day... we also have to carry tools, spare wheel or wheels, recovery and crash gear, maps, books etc etc.. it all adds up. I think we were maybe 1450kg fully loaded up, thats including both drivers. When we started we were 120kg up on that so its been a hard slog to get weight out of the car and yet keep it safe and sturdy.
  3. Things people lie about in Motorsport. Vehicles weight. Vehicles power. Build cost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Agree 100 percent. Catching up on top gear. Can't help but think this car is awesome. I want it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. sh*t, that's light for a car that size. Good work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Leave them out. They are over rated. Its amazing what individual components weigh, we took a similar weight out of the wiring loom alone in my race car.
  7. Not pooh poohing them, just being realistic. Was taking about 95% of NSX's that are not fast and or Automatic, the last of them went ok but they are in general no drag machine. Would love one though, with a supercharger. My favourite is Wolfs Acura from Pulp Fiction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My current daily is a new Clio, cool little car, amazing that it's only a 1.2, it goes well. I fitted wide tyres and some KW Suspension, so it's on rails. Also has awesome I love my Poodle stickers for extra zero f**ks given about looking cool value. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I own one mate, have driven a lot of them. I have worked with Renault a bit. Renault Auckland have a lot in stock, they only really show what they are made off on a back road with the ESP turned off, a lot of fun. The new Focus RS has me boned up at the moment. Saving my dollars for one.. Or a second hand new M3, but I love hot hatches, they are practical, fun, unassuming and non pretentious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Dynamics only go so far when you get dragged off by a SUV. The GTR is huge, very big car. Perfection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It's a shame they never gave it say 450bhp. Arguably the Nissan GTR is the better Supercar.. But still Japcrap. Here is one of my toy at Targa. Shameless post! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The coupe is rare, rarer than an E-Type! Look up Harrys garage on Youtube, he has a nice blue one that he did a video on recently. This Touring inspired me to buy mine back when I had one, still love the colour and wheel combo.
  13. A place to post what you like... BMW M3, Frozen Blue, nice wheels and stance.
  14. Because towing invisible trailer stance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, I knew yours was lighter, just love Lachssilber, my old wagon was that colour, must be the only grey/silver car I have owned that was rewarding to polish. Nice work Josh.

    Lachssilber? So nice. Mint cars.
  20. Nice video. I want, I want, I want!! Keen to have a drive of one of these new M4/M3's soon.
  21. Ha, Kev sold that thing years ago, he has a HSV Clubsport RS Manual now, cool car. good guy. Keen on a mission though, will give me motivation to fix my car / life. haha
  22. Targa roads are horrible, stick to SH1. To Taupo I can think of a few good routs, as said, if you want to go camping, the Coromandel route would work best. Let us know when the drive is, I don't follow the page on FB anymore but would be keen to go for a drive and have a bit of a yarn/piss up/camping with some GC's.
  23. Have you noticed what 911 pricing is doing? Or a nice old Mercedes convertible... or a classic American car.. amongst others. There are cars that are going up in value rapidly, the world market is now visible thanks to the internet.
  24. Remap, Quaife. Winning... and TBH, would be a proper fast car, with some decent suspension would be near M3 performance, possibly faster in some circumstances due to the low down and peak torque... out of unpredictable corners etc. Was eye balling this when TM window shopping last night. Do want.

    Drivexasperation

I don't get out much. So when I do its just more apparent how much we suck as drivers, even more so at the moment as I have been oversea's for three weeks ridding on two wheels in south east asia and ironically the tourists in my group were the worst drivers, I only fell off once! When it comes to f**kwits jamming on brakes, nothing makes them do it like a cop car with its lights on for no apparent reason parked on the side of the road. I just about swerved into the cop on the weekend coming over the hill by the Manurewa on-ramp, I literally swerved three lanes at 100kph to avoid the impending crawl. The cops have us so scared that we all just jam on our brakes even when we are not speeding. I am also wondering why so many other motorists are offering me hand jobs all the time, they literally wind down the window and start gesturing a hand job... some even offer to slip me a digit. I don't mind these type of drivers, they seem nice, most like to slow down in front of me as so I can be sure to see what they are offering, some even follow me.
