Welcome. Nice car, love the E46 M3. I had a IS200 back in the day, back when there were only a few on the road and cost a bloody fortune, mine had the full TTE treatment including the supercharger, was actually active on the forum that predated the Altezza forum most of the members started. Agree. +1.

V8's sound nice and have a nice bit of kick to them, personally I think you need to own a V8 at least once in your life and with the way fuel prices are going now is as good a time as ever. I miss my V8 beemer once in a while, mostly on the motorway. 530i is a nice car though, will be more economical and has better steering. Bar the small capacity diesel's none of the E39's are very economical by modern standards so its much of a muchness. That does not make much sense to me, I would think the lighter car with the smaller engine would be more economical when cruising seeing they have the same rolling resistance. When you are at a certain speed you don't need a lot of power to maintain it.

I know where a manual 330i motorsport touring is. And a lady drives it. And she wont sell it to me

Looks like it still has a tape deck. A tape deck in 2005? Who was still buying all the tapes?

Washing my engine bay caused engine issues

I find being severely hungover messes with something and makes me emotional watching most movies. Schindlers List gets me going, its powerful movies that get to me. You could buy a manual E60 M5 in the USA. That movie was ll sorts of bad, I just wondered why these rich gangsters would be driving shitty old E60 M5's and how they some how managed to keep with what was a F1 car.... even scarier the Hummer was keeping up with both. And then the runway scene!

I wish there were more European kits available, because most of the good kits come from Japan its 80% Japanese cars. Must have spent tens of thousands on them over the years, paints and tools alone were not cheap. Not a kit, but this RC car come in a million pieces and was fully mechanical, was even 4WD, built it when I was a kid, still have it somewhere, unfortunately it will most likely be the only E30 M3 I own in my life.

Good work, love kit sets. Have built many dust collectors over the years, was good at it when I was younger and had a larger attention span and time to do it, my last attempt was a basic GTR a five years ago. Have a mega Tamija 1/10th scale Datsun 240z to do one day when I have a few weeks spare.

Wheels look sh*t hot, shame about the slush box though! Manual conversion is a total transformation of the way the car drives.
-
So Pukekohe race track then? Haha

I never even knew a Mitsubishi Evolution was geared for those speeds, all I have driven have run out of puff around 200 and are not geared to do much more, they are geared for rally not the autobahn. Would love to see a old crappy 740 try and stop from 200kph, I have a feeling it would do it once and then catch fire.

Fantastic looking car, worth every dollar IMHO.

Haere mai. These are fantastic car, were the CS available with a proper manual or are they all SMG like the CSL.

Its just BMW's way of making the model distinguishable, car companies don't sell cars as a "facelift" that is something the media coined. To me LCI is better than "na mate its a late 2008 car so it has LED lights, revised bumpers and some new door cards"
-
I fully agree. On a motorway with multiple lanes, good weather and visibility, late at night with no traffic on the road it has been tempting to test out the top speed of my car. I drive at 200kph on public roads all the time though, some as wide as your driveway, 200kph on a motorway is nothing, its like a big wide smooth race track. Time and a place. The thought of you driving near 70kph through a residential where my family are scares me more than you giving your car a boot on the motorway.

Link to build thread? Would love a 4-Door E30 Facelift with a S14.
-
Oh so LCI is the facelift/ I only learned of this recently when looking at second hand E60's and someone pointed out a PDF outlining what changes the LCI brought on, I was quite amazed at how many small things they changed that most people wouldn't even notice, was interesting. See here... maybe not so interesting if you aren't't a geek http://5series.net/info/2008_LCI_Detailed_Changes.pdf

Welcome. I'm sure you will find lots of advice and help with parts around here. What can I say, its a 20 year old car that was designed to last 5 so crap will need replacing.
-
What? LCI is like a minor face lift mid model year, often its small changes like lights, interior trim, entertainment software etc.
-
Cool car dude.

And with over night parts from Japan it will decimate all. Sorry, I have to make a F&F reference every time I see a Supra. Good luck with the sale.
