  1. Nice car. Good luck with the sale. Are people cross shopping manual 325i SE 4-doors with automatic 318i coupes? Maybe start a for sale in the trading area?
  2. Wax on wheels will only last a couple of weeks so every six months is hopeless! You could try a wheel sealant if you are fussy, this will make them easier keep clean. Can you buy it in bulk? P.S say hi to Nigel in the warehouse, tell him he is a sell out for replacing his BMW with a Nissan
  3. I would have negotiated a discount and got my own tyres. If you want to gauge if they were being tight, call a Firestone direct that is at a Toyota Dealership and give them the car details and tyre sizes and tell them you want an OEM standard replacement, say its for your mum and you want a safe tyre. See what they come back with.
  4. I use Mothers cleaner, buy it in bulk, it works really well. http://www.mothers.co.nz/products-list/tire-wheel-care-products/foaming-wheel-tire-cleaner-3.78l.html Either way you do need to get down and clean them by hand for ultimate results, I have found a soft brush makes light work of it.
  5. Looking good. I think it may have been you I spotted in Papakura on the weekend, I thought it was blue but it was almost a silver blue.
  6. Both are mean conversions. Scary to think a modem 2.0 Diesel economy engine has more power and double the torque of E30 M3.
  7. Have looked at this car, the owner does look at these forums. Body work needs attention but it drives well. At 3k its good value In my humble opinion, I offered him 2700 for it and he declined.
  8. My dream build E30 is this colour. Keeping it OEM is going to be easier though and may be more appealing to the next owner if you care about selling it.
  9. Nice. Looks like a good little project. Looks forward to seeing progress.
  10. Nice, rare car in NZ, one of only a few. That would be a 3-door R26 in Liquid Yellow, the 225 never come in yellow.
  11. Any other cool cars there? Any photo's? Always intrigues me as to what random cars turn up at these meets.
  12. Just spotted a mean sounding light-blue/silver e92 M3 going past my house in Papakura. Made my morning.
  13. Have not found that with State, they have been happy to fill in the protected field on my last few cars with factory immobilizers. So in short, all alarms are sh*t and Tritian should just buy his missis a E30 M3. Another constructive thread!
  14. Just to confirm, the real YL462o's shock is fine.
  15. Nope, its just been painted in PPG Renault Ultra blue, fresh tints, nice wheels... Probably why, they are like magpies and like shinny things. Have to laugh, just today I put the little red "protected by mongoose" stickers on, do you think I should remove them?
  16. They could replace Bill Murray with Keven Spacey, perfect switch out, haha!
  17. Good question, It is the install that makes all the difference, problem is the cow boy shops fueled by tight are people looking for the best deal not the best install. Most of the cost on my alarm system was the install, took them 8 or so hours. Agree about selling the Subaru though, great idea, it seems the scum that go after cars mainly go after Jap/sh*t cars, my Hiace has been hacked twice in less than three months, all locks broken, window broken, its like a magnet to scum bags.
  18. Reminds me of a scene from one of the greatest movies of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w39o6eSI06Y
  19. They are all annoying to operate. I just had a full on Mongoose system installed in my Hiace after it was broken into the first day I had it, cost me $1000 installed and is really annoying as it impobilissesss itself after 30 seconds and locks the doors automatically after a time, it does a few random things that are annoying TBH. Would not recommend.
  20. Would have been cooler if he was in his Ghost Busters getup. Well done!
  21. Could be a good idea. I had a suggestion on another forum to use Flexy Flares, they are rolled already so could be the go. Will update, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdq5Zrvw6Hg
  22. Various manufacturers at different plants for different styles, all are TUV certified though so you can be assured they are quality. AFAIK a lot is made by BBS. BBS make a lot of OEM for many manufactures, from GM to Toyota, you would be surprised at what boring everyday cars have BBS manufactured wheels, the flash looking aftermarket wheels you see make up a very small part of their business.
  23. Learning to drift? Just go find a big paddock, grass kana events are good, no need for any mod's! I think its more a case of finding the right suspension people than the right brand, you could build something decent for and E30 with custom valving and corner weighting for around $2,500-3k.
