correct was the early m30 block early 635csi and e23 735i . larger bore and shorter stroke similar to the m88 block stroke them with the later 86mm m30 crank and then rebore the cylinders to 95mm makes a 3.65L custom high compression pistons , hot cams , later m30 34 type head with larger intake valves fitted and you will have a pretty torquy engine. mate of mine did one a bit like this with a turbo in a e28 track car
