Congratulations! You've owned lots of cars and have actually LIVED in the UK! This automatically entitles you to say my opinion is ballsacks! It also confirms another opinion of mine... Thread title states "opinions" I have given my honest opinion on imported e30's, no other makes or models, don't nitpick my post without reading it fully. I've owned 1 UK import e30. I've also seen 3 friends make poor decisions and buy rust bucket e30's all imported from the united kingdom. Don't have any experience with any other UK imported cars. TBH this is a stupid thread, most don't understand what the OP is asking for and are just saying the same sh*t over and over again like its a competition to put it in their own words. An opinion is a personal belief, not a rule, that's why everyone is entitled to one...

Push the belt inwards to tighten its grip on the pulley and tighten the bolts at the same time. When it turns while trying to do this its tight enough.

That's very lucky! My 1987 uk e30 was a colander, and all the other ex uk e30s ive seen/inspected were very rusty, especially on the underside. " This is a generalisation and the condition of the car ultimately relies on the maintenance & storage of the vehicle."

You have to use the m20 temp sensor if you are using the e30 gauge cluster. Same problem with my m30, and that fixed it instantly.

These guys are very good! http://www.rve.co.nz/trimming.html And imo cinnamon is better.

My current e30 is ex Jap. I took a gamble and it paid off as I flew to Nelson to pick it up without seeing it. It was very hard to fault and drove like new, probably because the owners looked after it and it had been serviced at a BMW workshop for all its NZ life. If I was to list from best to worst the overall condition of e30's from each country on a whole I'd definitely put NZ new at the top, followed closely by Japan then RSA. Ex UK e30s wouldn't even feature on the same page. This is a generalisation and the condition of the car ultimately relies on the maintenance & storage of the vehicle. Don't buy UK unless you want to spend a sh*t load on rust repair. Its that simple.

Hi all. I've recently purchased an ACS kit for my e36 so the motorsport gear I was hoarding is now for sale. The rear bumper off an evo m3 has been sanded smooth ready for paint and is in mint condition - $200 The skirts are the twist motorsport version and are Calypso Red in 9/10 condition with a few light scratches - $120 The Front bumper is a blue motorsport edition with a crack in the corner in bad condition, can be repaired for $180 by Autoplastic & Fibreglass Repairs in Papakura - $60 I will add pictures today, just want to get this out there as we're moving house and I cbfd taking them with me.

Brent, you're the man! I dont know how i missed that trademe auction.

I think the ACS type 2 kit for the E36 is by far the best looking. Understated yet clean and in-keeping with the original contours. Here's a Flickr link for the e36 pictured above: http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidbush/548...in/photostream/

Hi all, I'm looking for one or the other, let me know if you know where i can find one or have the item for sale. First choice would be an ACS Type 2 front bumper like the picture below. or otherwise I'm after a m3 lip for my motorsport bumper. I know the ACS bumper is a long shot but there's no harm in trying

Do it Spargo, you can be cool like max and I!
-
Would be very similar the e30 series here no? ti's are just e30's in fugly sheep's clothing...
-
You know it! H&R Sports & Billie Sports Will post pictures of ride height once they've settled, and I've given the car a good clean.
-
From looks of it its just a bolt on lip for the front bumper and colour coded trim. I hopefully will have an ACS kit on in the coming weeks
-
Yeah thats me. Was part timing but now full time. Scott's your mothers bf?
-
I don't understand how you rescued it..... You don't want it and plan to part it out?? Your profession is panel and paint, why don't you fix the rust have a mint car and make some money along the way.
