not trying to cause any beef but for those who claim psy to be a one hit wonder is a bit stretched. you may have only heard of him since his 'success' with gangnam style he is an old school singer and what one might call a veteran in the korean music scene. he obviously hasnt had international hits prior to gangnam style but he is in his own right a very successful artist who has had the chance to become an global star through his song gangnam style (which is from his 6th album). anyways, my thoughts on "gentleman" is that it seems very obvious that he has taken some structural cues from gangnam style and basically changed the content of it while sticking within that frame. Its not a great music video.. and nothing revolutionary like gangnam style. I really do think the gangnam style music video was quite genius comically, and the dance routine was very interesting, easy to copy/follow and enjoy. gentleman basically just used the dance from "brown eyed girls - abracadabra" which was already a hit in korea, with the whole nation copying that dance. I saw on a interview video of psy prior to his video release and he said something along the lines of "the dance routine for gentleman is something that all koreans would know, but the world probably wont know, and i have taken it and put it in my own style." it doesnt seem like he changed anything and just used it as it is... once again, nothing revolutionary. the song, i thought was catchy, had a decent beat, and lots of english phrases that are simple and quite comical. the lyrics of the song are decent and from his live performances, its clear that he is not only a singer songwriter but also a great performer who knows how to handle a massive crowd. and imho this is not as bad as some truly rubbish pop songs that have been coming out as of late... seriously disappointed in the quality/level of music that is played on the radios these days. Nothing beats the 'true' music that has been eclipsed by the recent load of cr*p. gangnam style was a hit, i reckon it deserved it, maybe not 1 billion views worthy but still quite brilliant. gentleman? not so much, its decent song, ill probably listen to a few more times but it probably wont be on my list of songs to get me pumped up like gangnam style. I personally was quite proud, being a korean myself, that a song that mainly used korean lyrics, was so well received... think its a great milestone for psy, i hope he doesnt try to make any more 'renditions' of gangnam style and stick to making great music. wow this post became longer than i thought.. end rant/ edit: link to the original dance music video

FS: Custom German/Europlates ORDERS NOW CLOSED - Last Order Before Chr
qube replied to _ethrty-Andy_'s topic in For Sale
^ you can get any style from the germanplates website. do note that NONE of these are "LEGAL" however the plain white background with "NZ" and the fern in black or blue do go "under the radar" of nz police so typically you should be okay. i guess it goes without saying that andy does not take any responsibility if you choose to put black on white plates or any other variation (including the standard issue esque one) and you may face a fine of $200 as far as i know. also pays to check your letter/number combination on the germanplate website as ive noticed that some of the letters are quite similar to nz standard issue plates but some are VERY different. like "i" and "j" and "l".. thanks again andy for running this again, if i can round up some spare cash would be keen on a couple sets myself. cheers -
jumped onto smartphones with the iphone 4 and then now an iphone 5. i love how its so simple to use, its quick and does everything i need. call/txt/email/photos/web searches/facebook (haha) not really sure if i feel the need to change to android - nexus 4, htc one, whatever else i never really used one properly and im a little bit hesitant/scared... hmmmmm

http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ Chuck ur vin no in here for build sheet
-
Basically my thoughts exactly^ Never was a fan of Samsung due to average build quality and the Samsung/android os. Keen to see htc one as it looks to have good build quality but will need to see their take on modifying the android os. iPhones are great in terms of simplicity. It does everything well but it's boring. Will be checking out the nexus phone. Google will be bringing out the big guns soon I imagine.

btw "track arm bushes" same as thrust arm or reation arm as bmw calls it. common problem for the e39 (and e34) 5 series. again, buy part from milland and replace diy or any mechanic. an hour or so labour. nothing major to get rid of the "shimmer"
-
if you're in auckland i have a 235/40/18 tyre, good year eagle f1 with about 5mm tread, slight camber wear but nothing major. all those problems sound typical of e39s.. to be completely honest, in my opinion, you probably wont get far trying to sell a car with those problems for $3k, when the current market is flooded with decent e39s for only a little bit more. So since you like the car, i say take your time to get those things fixed and you should be rewarded with a lovely car in the end. there are plenty of DIY guides floating around should you choose to give it a go yourself, which should save you a lot (A LOT) of money. all the best!

an e39 525i may not be a rocket but it still a good cruiser and a nice car in its own right. make sure you spend your money on what counts and not on useless stupid mods first. those can come later plenty of good people on this forum for any problems you may have (hope you wont have any!) welcome and post pics when you get a chance.

Bump. Wheels price reduced to $1000.

Look for the e39 528 I posted for sale. Looking fr around $5k and all maintenance been done. Had it for like 10 years owned by my dad and still daily driver. Had a reconditioned engine transplant while back have receipts. Only selling for upgrade. I'd say its tidier and better condition than the two u posted. Pm for more info

will take $4500 cash for the e34 for bimmersport members

i was actually thinking the same thing.. im sure everyone would be more than happy to pitch in any amount to total the sale price to hold it in his memory.. it does seem like a bit of a waste letting it sit with no owner.. but it would be 1000000x better than some 18year old buying it trying to make it go sideways and wrapping it around a pole (touch wood) i really really do hope it goes to a nice new owner who can do it as much justice as brian has done on this wonderful machine and keep it well maintained. but looking at the price, i dont think anyone would snatch it up that quick seeing as other examples are selling for 5k or even less.. has to be an enthusiast who picks this over other e36 coupes
