  1. Can you prove it has no fluids in it or something?
  2. In the e91 I found stage 3 to be a bit too harsh and slammed into gears, but stage 2 was perfect. I've seen a post from M3AN on another forum indicating he doesn't have a gear indicator on the dash in D mode, which I think is one of the things a trans flash does?
  3. @M3AN or anyone else with an auto 130i, have you considered trying an xhp trans flash? Worked well on my e91 and apparently works on the 130i too.
  4. @NZ_InFerno want an even louder exhaust? Welcome BTW, that's a lovely looking car with some good bits in it. Great choice.
  5. My stock pumps ran stage 2+ without issue, so heaps of headroom on 98 octane.

    97 M3 EVO tidy up

Never had an issue ordering S50 parts from ECS, just got to use specific part numbers instead of using their website to find parts.

    E39 M5

The car didn't have a buy now (or it wasnt 20k), and the reserve price wasnt clear. It wasn't a 19.5k start reserve. It was only 20k on the second listing for the short time that was up. Eh, either way, i dont really care. Im not in the market, im not standing to lose anything. There is definitely double standards though, everyone defending Brad, yet happy to jump into other threads and slag off other people flipping cars.

    E39 M5

I think the biggest thing that grinds my gears a bit is that the car was snapped up so quickly 90% of other potential buyers probably didn't even get a chance to line their ducks up, and now they can't buy it without paying a 12k premium. It was listed that night and gone by lunch the next day. I get buying and selling cars is generally with the intent of making money, but buying something just to straight away take some better photos and list it for a significant increase doesn't sit well with me. I buy and sell a lot of cars, but I at least enjoy them for a couple of months before moving them on (usually in a much better state than I got them in). An enthusiast doesn't flip cars. An enthusiast takes the time to learn and enjoy a car.
  9. I remember that from when I had issues with the lpfp in my e91. Mine was a bodged in aftermarket lpfp causing me issues. https://www.tasteslikepetrol.net/2018/11/schnellwagon-fuel-pump-shenanigans/
  10. You can do that check just by giving it Wot in 3rd on the road. Don't need to hit redline.
  11. Right, so I went over and had a poke around last night. Can confirm the issue, the throttle will randomly fail to respond immediately, and will come back with a jerk. After that if you keep driving there is no low end power and the throttle response is rubbish. Inpa comes up with code 2A38, valvetronic servomotor: binding or open circuit. No CEL. We cleared the code, did a relearn for both end stops (which passed OK, can hear motor go from stop to stop) and it seemed to drive fine until it faulted and threw the same code. At this point we noted in inpa that the live data from the valvetronic motor showed a fixed reading for "VVT actual value" and wasn't moving (like it does when tested straight after an end stop test). Running the end stop test again "freed" it up and it passed fine. So I'm thinking either it's the valvetronic motor, or maybe the eccentric shaft sensor. Need Dan to check if there is oil in the connector for the sensor as that's a common failure and oil is a giveaway. Neither part is cheap enough to be shotgunning parts at it. Anyone had this before?

Guess you didn't love the M5 as much as you said?
  13. Only thing I know is that the pano roof on those are real troublesome, both in operation/failure and for leaking and drains blocking.
  14. Sounds like some cars do a self-learn on the valvetronic motor, but INPA might be able to do a relearn and end stops. Hopefully my INPA works on it. this is the self-learn, if it helps. turn the car ON (don't start engine), and wait. You should here the car going through the "self test/calibration" on the valvetronic motor. Wait about 30 seconds and turn the car off. Next restart everything should be ready.
  15. Can INPA do it?
  16. Just thinking out loud, do these have a thing where it kills the throttle if you apply the brake? Could it be a dodgy brake light switch?
  17. Thats a really nice colour
  18. 18 months ago I got my e91 335i for 10k with full bolt ons, LSD and stage 2+ mhd and xhp flashes. They're out there if you're patient.
  19. This is why im suspicious of their work. Unless the car has had timing chain work recently and it wasnt done properly (chain refitted a tooth out), or the tensioners failed (which they havent), there isnt really any other way for the timing to be out without it being Vanos related. Good thing you still have a couple of N52s there with new vanos solenoids for future testing eh? Also, the roof rail flap you're missing, can they be removed and refitted without breaking them? same as E9x? Im wondering if you could take one from a car at pickapart or something instead of doing the whole strip?
  20. Would a cam sensor issue not throw a code? Seems like they spent a lot of time checking things that maybe they didnt need to touch? Like why was the timing "out", if it was only a cam sensor issue? Either way im glad you got it back and you can finally get in and trash the pants off it, like you should've been able to from day one.
  21. Iirc the 323i wasn't a model sold in the states, so probably why it's not on that list despite being similar.
  22. I think you want to swap the auto E87 for my Saab 93 wagon Yes, you do...
  23. You can upload the logs through the mhd app to datazap, which is an awesome free site for reviewing your logs. The logging module is well worth it.
  24. Plus, unless its been helicoiled, each time those rocker cover bolts are loosened off, they might not go back in again >_<
  25. That gasket is still not seated properly in the front above that sensor, it should be flush and not sticking out. There is still about 600% too much sealant slathered everywhere too. The gasket can be very fiddly, but any competent person with eyes and fingers could fit it without issue. Im not sure what other engine work you had done, but in neither of the S50s ive done the vanos on have I had to touch the fuel rail. I wouldn't be using them again. I have also just noticed, in the original post, 3rd photo down, it looks like one of your vacuum caps on the throttle body balance ports is broken off?
