Only overseas though. LHD examples in NZ are treated like they have Covid.

Jeez guys, how many times are we going to quote all of the photos?
-
I love how the blue pops out in those photos ?

Lol, I only skim read the listing before, but now i've had a better look, good fricken luck. Fully repainted in the Factory colour. Fully debadged (A factory option at the time at a cost of 5K). So clearly they just bogged in the badge recesses when repainting the car. Why spin that story about it being a factory option? Huge Sound system. I particularly like the half arsed install in the boot, with bits hanging by their wires and a repco sub box held in with some metal strapping from bunnings. My last E36 had a "huge sound system" and that was actually a damn good build (but ugly and heavy). From its unique new colour job, to being fully debadged, to its heated Mspec interior and exterior items, Nobody else will have one like it, No, I can assure you that no one will have one like it, unless they too grab bits from other cars and make their own spec. Hes spinning a story to try and justify the huge cost, yet none of his tales add up.

All of the Q&A is now gone? What a loser, obviously whinged to tardme and got them to remove it all.
-
Being the interior code is Fabric flat-weave "Clover"/turquoise (D6TK), this is what it should look like. Not black leather. I dare say the heated seats have been retrofitted too as thats not on the options list, and is hardly going to be fitted to a S823 Hot-Climate Version car.

4 Door E36s are gross. Worse than convertibles even.
-
There is no way that is on standard suspension, thats at a horrible flatpeak stance height. The only thing going for that car is that its "low km". No service history, questionable mods, singapore import. Its not cheap. Also, is the airbag cover meant to have uneven gaps and a lump in it?
-
14.5k and the glove box is still sagging ?
-
Guess it won't be getting a new Wof soon then?
-
I havent got car jam open but I guess it's done zero km for the last few wofs?
-
Thankfully its just ticked over 40 years, so has two years before its dereg, but yes, worth sorting asap anyway.
-
Wow thats super cool, well done! Whats the story behind it? Why is it sitting rotting at your work?
-
Very rare in 130i E: Yup, factory fitted. Thats a nicely specced car btw. https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/ps88799

Wait, more importantly, do you have cruise control @IainR ?
-
Google says its a JDM TV tuner or the likes. Bin it.

Chances are they were all registered before 2010, thats how they still stay on the road. The one rule that should be pulling them out is the excessive smoke rule, but it seems no one can be bothered testing for that. I know we failed a Mitsi for it at work a while back, but all the owner did was drive it away with no WOF and probably take it somewhere else for a pass after dumping some smoke stop in it.

Seeking advice for the BMW 116i (2012-2013) (F20)
KwS replied to Quan99's topic in General Discussion
Lol if the price difference between 91 and 95 is even a question you're going to hate servicing and fixing a BMW, unless of course you're prepared to get your hands dirty. -
It already does and already is a fail if a cat or DPF is removed, but only as long as the vehicle was manufactured after 1990 and first registered in NZ after May 2010, unless it passes an emissions test without it fitted. So if the above M3 was first registered in NZ after 2010, it would be a WOF fail and thus illegal to remove the cats.

Wait and the market will come back. Have a look at what the manuals have been selling before in this thread, IIRC the average price was around 8-10K depending on various factors. Using the cars currently on the market as any sort of price guide is straight up stupid.
-
TBH if you want a manual one, spend the extra and get a manual one. 98% of the time buying a cheaper auto and converting it to manual isn't cost effective, and if you didnt want an auto in the first place, you're probably not going to be happy slushing around in one for long. Manuals do come up at good prices, but obviously the market is in a state of chaos with this whole Covid thing. Be patient and get the car you want.

I concur with Dave, ADS and a hardware serial port is required for most modules on any E36 I have had the displeasure of working with. I even had to buy a specific crappy old Dell laptop just to use EasyDIS with a hardware port. Its a pretty well documented "feature".

Id do a standard drain and refill, drive it for a bit and then drop the pan/filter. Helps mix the old and new fluid up to drain more old fluid, since only about half comes out in one drain.

XHP flash is an app you install on your phone/tablet and download the tune from that into the car. Pretty easy to do with the right cable. The ZF6 in my 150k 335i was horrible, even after servicing it and replacing the seals on the valvebody, it just shifted like complete trash, but it does appear to be the exception as a couple of other ZF6s i have driven (including with higher km) have been a lot better. Might have been down to the extra power being pushed through it without regular servicing, but who knows. @NZ_InFerno is probably the guy to ask once he gets his 130i sorted. He has both a manual and auto one currently, although both (the manual especially) are being a bit troublesome.
