Put the Hartges on the tech II. Store the weaves in your shed. Buy some nasty low springs for the hartge car and stick some nasty cheap rims on it and sell it for a profit.

1) the current student loan scheme will prob stay no matter what - it was an electioneering scheme and now its in I doubt it will go so forget that. BTW no matter how long you take to pay of your student loan, its f**k all out of your life, and if you actually did a decent degree instead of some f**kall BA then you would earn enough so it didn't matter. I had a student loan - took less than 9 months to pay off on my fat new out-of-uni salary (saving hard of course and working while at uni to minimise the loan - my parents paid for diddley). 2) MMP is all about voting for the minority party whose policies you believe in. Chances are the plebs will vote the majority parties in, so the more votes the minority party whose policies you agree with get, the more say they have come coalition time. The strategy is - decide which majority is the lesser evil. Look at who they say they will form a coalition with. Decide which one of those you agree the most with and vote for them. Hopefully they get enough votes that the majority party you looked at joins up with them to form a government and (unless you are EVEN MORE cynical than me)at least your party gets a say. 3) It is attitudes like the this - People think these are worth voting for: Labour (f**k up my nice rental portfolio) "Lesbian Helen" vs National (Tax breaks vs. social cost, just to wind up Labour anyway - didn't they sell our assets and cause half of the problems with SOE's that they are now blaming Labour for?) "I'm a homo - John Key" - that is what has got us f**ked in the first place. Bring on the Gustatorship/bravosocialist coalition.

In the end I bought individual stuff as I needed it and I'm happy. I wouldn't discount Teng as they are actually very good generally, and Powerbuilt is OK if you buy there more durable lines. I have plenty of Powerbuilt, but none of it the cheaper stuff and its fine. Don' get fixated on drive size. I use 1/4" for all the millions of 8mm trim bolts on e30's. 3/8" for alot of the 10mm etc stuff where 1/2" is a bit big to fit in the gaps. Again we're talking mostly trmis etc here. Then 1/2" for all the serious stuff - trans and engine bolts, bumper bolts, exhaust etc. You can use 3/8" with a bar to extend the ratchet length etc but as with most things you are basically "making do".. My shopping list (from someone who has recently done it) A set of metric combination spanners 6 to 26mm (for the front pulley) A set of 14" (cheap) sockets 5-10mm with a driver plus extension and a "Screwdriver attachment" A set of 3/8" sockets (nid range price) 10-20m with a decent driver and extensions for alot of work. A set of 1/2" sockets from 13-32mm (decent quality. 32mm for things like wheel bearings) with a very nice driver, a few (3 or 4) extensions of varying lengths (at least 2 long ones) and at lest 2 universals, and at least 1x 1/2" to 3/8" reducer. A decent power bar. A decent torque wrench. A set of allen sockets - 2mm - 8mmish A set of torx sockets - for get sizeds but standard set for 3/8" - 1/2" driver will be fine A set of screwdrivers. at least a few jewelers drivers, a couple of small phillips and flathead drivers, a couple of "stubbies" (phillips and flathead), a few mid-size, and then various mid to VERY LARGE flathead for use as levers etc. A set of torx screwdrivers. (small). A decent pair of pliers. A decent pair of longnose pliers. A decent pair of sidecutters A set of smaller pliers/sidecutters/wire strippers etc. A stanley knife. Centre punches. Hammers - 1x rubber mallet, 1x claw, 1-2x ball pein, 1x soft head, 1x mini sledge (optional unless your name is Gus). Trolley jack 3 tonne. Axle stands x2 min, x4 better. Multi grip pliers x1. Stilsons 2x. Hacksaw. Drill. Oil filter wrench. Work light. Halogen on stand (optional bt recommended). Rattle gun (optional - need air compressor). There's plenty else, but thats a good starting point. Get a good tool chest and at least one "tool tray" to throw in the tools you are using for the job at hand so they are not lying on the floor. I also have work blankets etc, but then again, most of my work is done on a dirt floor. Good Luck.

They're not perfect, but only direct sunlight or 1000W halogens can tell. Pretty stoked.

Progress pics. Will finish sometime in next couple of days when work isn't so manic. Found the donor car cheap as chips with no WOF or Reg and stuffed Auto. Will rebuild in stock form with new Auto for g/f for matching e30's. It will be a 4door auto 320 and will have my current suspension setup for slamming looks. My car will have a more fitting H&R plus bilstein setup. Night 1: Donor car halfway thru stripping Night 2: Strip my car Night 3 (tonight): start reassembly, drilling, fitting etc. Still to do - wash and fit number plate, align LHS front door as it is from the donor car and needs fine tuning, swap mirrors for painted ones, swap boot lids to finish tech II, fit rear guard tech II panels. Then I can start repairing and reassembling the donor car for my g/f - it never ends!!!

Ok, got myself organised. Rugger. Its an '89 Daihatsu with 2.8l turbo diesel, roll cage, all round bull bars, lift kit, full recovery hooks and gear, 9000lb winch, Pirelli Scorpion Mud Terrain rubber. Dirt bike and Dad's '42 Willys: New e30 after stripping it: It was a relatively good cond car before I took to it with a hammer.

That's a veritable can of worms. Wold post a pic but would prob get banned.

Nice Jag Ken. It's no e38 though.
-
Yes, but parking wardens can fine you for parking on street without WOF and Reg AFAIK, maybe their powers extend to illegal plates too???

This thread on r3vlimited got me thinking a couple of things... 1) those punks have way too many nice rides. 2) Good idea for a thread. Post up your other rides. Can be BMW, but don't want pics of the same old cars we see on here all the time. Someone post up something cool like a Zamboni. I know its lame starting a thread like this with none of my own, but I just realised I'm on the wrong computer. Pics up tonight of: Modified Daihatsu Rugger offroader Dirty old dirt bike My new e30

Welcome. Where was the pic taken?

Spain I thought - Americas Cup. That is one of those things everyone hopes to find, but never does. Who owns the land? How could they never have looked in the shed?

Nice and IMO priced ok too. Sam - its OK to argue with yourself in your head, but this just proves that you are in fact certifiably insane.

They are crap. What is the phone number of the guy who has them. i want to ring him and abuse hime for selling such crap wheels!!!! Jks, they appear to be very rare Alpinas - buy them. Don't even think about crashing your race car with them on though!!!
-
That's not how the auction reads. he only admitted it had money owing in the questions section not in the main auction. He also says it will be paid before the car is handed over to the new owner. Maybe he's gone broke and just wants to cover the debt?
-
sh*t. - that's what you call traffic. Fearless...
-
Ouch! That's a cool track though.

The internet was for sale on ebay a little while ago - somebody bought a lemon. Still needs to be stickied once it works again though!!

It's not displaying and once that's fixed it should be stickied. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=10101

The guy says he'll pay the lein at time of sale. As it is written there in the aucion coments you have right to back out of the auction if he doesn't. I would be demanding that the $8300 is paid by you and you pay the balance to him. Also get confirmation from the finance company that the car will be freehold if you pay. Its registered as a 325i but has an s50, m3 kit and wheels. So probably is an m3 - nice buy!
