    Car Tuning

Any reputable mechanic or service shop. I presume its running a bit "off"? They'll just go through all the usuals - plugs, points, HT leads, dizzy, fuel, mixture, timing, Air filter, tappet adjustment (if any) faulty sensors, etc and may as well do oil and auto trans fluid while its there. Probably cost a couple of hundy all up including consumables and labour, but if it needs a "tune up" its [probably overdue for a proper service anyway. Where in auckland does your friend live? if he lives out west you don't want to recommend somewhere in Manukau for example.

    BMW 4x4's

Landcruiser- weighs 2.8 tonne and we tow 3.5 tonne boat with it - total over 6 tonne - it knows it's there, but only just. Towed 2.5 tonne of car and trailer from Auckland at 100km/h easy (except up brenderwyns).
  3. To be legal, spacers will require the vehilce to be certified as a Low Volume Vehicle. ie you need a cert to run them and once you have one item that requires a cert, all modifications to the vehicle must also pass the certification process.
  4. wrong - I know where you are coming from Jock, but I'm sick of having to get f**king permits every time I want to have fun. Under Jocks scheme I would need the following: Permit for my 20l can for filling the rideon. Permit for about 6 or 7 5 - 20l Jerry cans for lawnmowers, dirtbike, etc. Permit for my 50l diesel can for the tractor. Permit for 5 jerry cans for the jeep. Permit for fizzboat. Permit for filling up my trailered 4x4. Permit for our launch. Plus for those of us with race cars, permits for those. can you imagine the cost and red tape?? Load of rubbish. If unwarranted cars are the problem then how about the cops police them more. Most cars killing people in street races have been WOF'd and REG'd. Maybe illigally modified, but they still had a WOF.

    Docking School

This email has been going around my brothers shipping mates - its quite good fun - and definately easier if you've been boating before - handles uncannily like the real thing. Docking School Click on the "controls" button for instructions - you have port and starboard engine controls - no rudder or bow thrusters.
  6. Awesome! OBC for sale - $1325 - any takers?
  7. I have a wee favour, involves taking your e30 to a workshop to have something test fitted to see if it will work - will take about 15 mins max once you are there. Can arrange to do it outside normal working hours if need be. You know you want the beers.
  8. Nice - that is pretty much exactly my goal for when I come back from my OE.

    BBQ & a few beers

    That actually suits me better.
  10. Damn I voted for the RX's, but now I'm definately thinking the Ch's - f**king ***** gotta reprasent nah mean?
  11. My setup is 40mm drop in front and 60mm drop in rear - would prefer 40-50mm all round. On bilstein shocks out of a msport. The bilsteins are 20 years old and been with low springs for 3 years or more and they still pass a shock test and have no leaks etc. However, when funds allow I will be ripping the whole lot out for soething new and properly thought out. With a sub in the boot, my rear camber is the pits and I go through tyres like "insert jammaterjames quote here". As far as price goes, depends on what you get and whether you go new or secondhand. I can't remember what I paid for mine but I think it was $800???? for shocks and springs secondhand. I just sold some king lows and four near new monroe stock shocks for $600 to a guy I knew. so there are bargains to be had.
  12. Can't help with a shell, but feel your pain - exact thing happened to me and I'm not a car n00b. Kicked myself for ages for not checking properly under the car ( I did look but missed it). In my case I had it repaired - you might want to look at this option - might end up cheaper than swapping everything into a new shell. Or cut your losses, part it out and buy a new one.
  13. The car. I like. Needs 1.4 more litres though.
  14. Its piss easy - have you seen the f**ktards in this country with a valid drivers license? Seriously though as been said, you can d/load the road code and sample questions off the LTSA website.
  15. If it had the go to go with the show I'd question your sanity in trading it for the bimmer. Tuff.
  16. You need to get the universals in phase. There is only two possible correct alignments. Search and Will and I have both answered this in the past with pictures.

    E30 BAUR on trademe

Yeah - its on my watchlist. I may know a possible buyer and will be putting them in touch with you if so. Good luck with the sale - I didn't know they made any f/l ones.
  18. Chris - is yours not aligned and you don't know how? Or is yours unbalanced? I can show you how to align it if the former, but I'm guessing the latter.
  19. Yeah m3 style wheels - may be replicas. Good watch - fken insane, drugged up mofo though. WTF was he up to?
  20. Hmm confiscate the car for min 28 days, and a maximum of say 90. If the fine isn't paid by then then you lose it - this is for first serious offence. That way there would be f**kall owed fines as every fine that wasn't paid, the cops would have the car as security.
