I'll give you a few beers for one. Unpainted, stock black rubber boot spoiler with no rust, and not perished. Mine has rust and I just want a replacement until I source a decent condition tech II.
-
I test drove one of these before I test drove my first e30. If it hadn't been full of rust I doubt I'd be a member here today - was way cool. (apart from the rust).
-
Yes - has extra panels for rear doors, front door panels smaller, and I think side skirts different length.

Generally used in the context of describing something that is flashy, bling or high-roller. Pimp-spec - something that is specced to pimp'n standards.
-
It may be Gareths (ipwnyou) if his is fixed yet. But I'm sure there are other white tech II's around.

Tell the polise even just to have them file the report - your insurance company may require it later on. Dynatron and Mongoose make good alarms. If you get a 4 or 5 star you get a discount on your insurance and it will deter thieves to some extent.

And to add to the confusion, in some markets (US and UK for instance) the Motorsport was called a 325iSport instead of a M325i. And then there is the 318iS which had a different front lip and possibly other cosmetic upgrades, but I'm not enough of an expert to know.

Jochen - do you mean 0.1m accurcay for your maps or for you GPS coordinate? An in-car GPS may give you 0.1m precision but generally not 0.1m accuracy. Generally the C/A code (for non-military use) will only give positions within a few metres. Which is more than enough for in car nav. Try it - Park your car and note your position. Come back in an hour or so and turn the car on and note the position again. Do this 3 or four times - at best your position will remain the same within a metre or so, at worst during periods of poor satellite coverage/geometry you'll have up to 10-15m difference. (No cheating - wait a minute or two for the unit to regain satellite lock - until it does it will just display the last recorded position indicating no change at all) I like what you are doing Jochen - its pretty cool stuff. I love the idea of customising in-car nav, and am interested in anything GPS and mapping related. Pity my e30 doesn't have nav.

Serious off-road tyres - not for your day-to-day road 4x4. BF Goodrich Wrangler M/T (Mud Terrain) 11.5x32" for 15" rims - these puppies are pretty big. 50% wear. Tread and rubber in good condition. We've found them awesome on sand and in bogs, but our vehicle is too light and underpowered to get them clearing the tread on Northland clay - suit a V6 or V8 with some grunt to get them spinning properly. We've gone down to 9.5x30" Pirelli Scorpion M/T's as we are running a light ruck with a 2.8l turbo diesel. $400 for 4. These were $1000+ a set new. (Over $300 each new at 4wd bits.co.nz, but I've seen them for around $250 elsewhere occaisionally)

I always state shipping, but have been stung a few times when it costs more to send. Hard to estimate sometimes and transport companies don't like you ringing up evey 5mins to get a quote on sending a gearbox or whatever everytime a potential buyer asks - you just have to guess and hope you're right. Occasionally I have made a few dollars on the postage - roundabouts and swings. As long as its not totally ridiculous, then you could argue the point before you pay. I know what you are saying though and agree.

That I didn't know. It's just that everyone seems to want them and AFAIK noone seemed to have them (at least not good ones). EDIT: Can't find them on their site - only for e36+ not e30. I assume we were talking e30 here seeing as it was an e30 shortshifter???

Yeah I get the tiny font - and no scroll bar on fast reply - have to click the expand button so I can fit my essays in.

Can you get the ones for the sheet metal console (that looks like a direct replacement for alloy console.) Maybe it can be pulled apart and installed in sheet metal console? Have you tried one? Would like to know where the lever sits in the car - z3 ones not ideal as bend not the same as e30 stock, but you get used to it quick. Does the shift linkage hit the guibo like some of the z3 ones? You're priced quite a bit below z3 shifter (dealer price) and still significantly below non-dealer price too, so all good there. If you are bringing in stuff from overseas you should look at angel eyes

Read the old posts - new broom for the dragon gives it away. although the cheeky display name is a tip off also.

You'll all keep.

Used to frequent hotbimmer but it went offline even though it was quite busy. r3vlimited is a cool e30 forum I check out occaisionally for broader info if no-one here knows. The others I've found are too busy for me to keep up so I don' like them. Its a good point to note for here too - although more traffic = more advertising leverage, it would ruin BS for me if it got too much busier (not that my opinion means diddly of course). Already since joining I feel I need to skim and cut through the chaff so to speak when browsing here (2 pages of unread posts every morning at 50 per page compared with always less than one before). But its a sign of the times and a good thing too.

That is pretty gay. It's always a shame when another driver makes an error of judgment that injures or kills another. Traveling like gumballers do during the rally it was bound to happen sooner or later, but that said its still an exciting and IMO cool event. Somehow, the organisers need to a/ take some responsibility and b/ put some rules in place to help prevent future tragedies like this.

Seen this before - not sure what the story was in the end, but there was alot of speculation as to the genuine ness, and last time the HP claims were slightly less ridiculous. Enjoy. If it goes for low enough and is in good nick it may be down someones alley - other wise I wouldn't have even bothered posting it up.

Mine is English only, different dust jacket, but same hardcover inside and same authors. About $50-60 australian from memory.

I emailed the seller and told him/her that was my intention - hence the reason I prob havn't had a reply. I basically said I'm looking about, would be interested in a chinwag at the least, or some comments re the cars in general and a test drive if they felt that way inclined, but that I was just kicking tyres atm. Honesty first. So its up to them if they want to indulge me with their time. I know what a PITA tyre kickers are so would never be one myself without good reason.
