  1. lets hope it works. if it still rattles at really high temps its probably something you could live with. consider wrapping the adjacent exhaust pipes maybe if box heat is an issue with hard driving Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  2. most engine oils have anti oxidation additives as standard so i wouldnt worry about oxidation inside the covers
  3. sounds like it might be the hanger as you say. this is why i would have done the clutch etc while the engine was out as its much easier than pulling the box out later
  4. i used vht wrinkle which worked but the plain primers i used didnt work. im sure etch primer etc would work Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  5. yea i hated working with that magnesium nothing sticks to it with paint. powder coat should be fine.
  6. possibly was an optional extra intended for the playboys among us
  7. had to cut.mine off. was formed into the shape of the barbs. was very hard to cut as it has strong fibre layer. i replaced mine with a piece of fuel hose and still going strong Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  8. a friend has a sign on his wall that says " threaded or cross threaded. tight is tight" probably wouldnt apply that to an m motor though. can the bolt thread in with the tensioner removed? will tell you if its the threads or the unit binding it up Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  9. awesome work. i use this on the 540 during long trips. it doesnt show different readings with different key positions. it bases readings on resistance so when the voltage drops with engine off the reading drops a couple of degrees. drops another couple if ypu turn headlights on with engine off Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  10. would just replace. repair job will require all new bearings and seals. and if the bearings have let go the teeth may be damaged. same money get a second hand diff swap over fill with good oil and be done in a day Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  11. so im guessing you hit post about 4 times?
  12. 1500 would be with near mew reputable tyres. closer to 1000 of they need repairs Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  13. whats worse than earthquakes in tararua? A: tararua
  14. manuals worth more. manual im sport trim 4k. base trim less. service history a plus
  15. the gasket seats in.the bottom of the groove so planing the edge wont change how it sits. it will just expose more rubber. i think thats why it was said it cant be done. yoi would have to machine down the groove too.
  16. bear in mind that the covers dont actually touch the head. i would flat edge it and only worry about it if it is more than 2- 3mm or so off plane
  17. i think bnt are the only stockists just fyi Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  18. i have sorted similar rattles at idle in a toyota with redline mt90. known as the best oil to help worn syncros too. has a very high shear strength so provides a good cushioning layer on the gear during hard use. this was a gearbox with a light flywheel and a v6 conversion so lower idle speed that originally designed for.
  19. just dont put directionals on the rear. keep swapping left to right haha.

doesnt the e36 have a smaller center bore? Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2
  21. just turn the boost down and dont tell them how to increase it until about 6 months later
  22. lsd and then new diff/subframe mounts to put the powr down. is it sacriledge to think it would be better with a gilmer belt drive, just for the sound
