the m5 rotors seemed to cheap. maybe they were just the outside of the floating setup. might ring supplier monday and get one out of a box. us m5 didnt have floating rotors Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2

anyone know the difference between m5 and standard 540i rotors, ive looked them up at work and the only measurment its showing different if the minimum thickness when worn, normal sizes are all the same but they have different part numbers, m5 ones are available slotted so if they are the same i might go for them instead of standard 540i rotors. thanks

i pulled minenout and tucked tue wiring behingbthe cd stacker. can always reinstall it later. biggest difference is i can now fit decent sized items in the boot. amd as a side note the light mounted in the unit unclips amd.clips into a hole for it under the unit so you retain light Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2

cant say i like those wheels on that car, and i love those wheels. sits to high and makes them look small. have loved those wheels ever since i learnt that they made one spoke hollow so they could put the tyre valve under the center cap for a flawless look 21" alpinas would look perfect but i dont believe in ruining handling for looks.

couldnt have said it better. i havent done the m54 but im sure like most it includes the not so obvious process for removing, storing and reinstalling coils etc. glad to see someone sent help through though. offtopic i have done a m60b40 engine on two separate occasions, once with oem rubbers once with aftermarket no name ones off trademe both sets of gaskets looked identical but the aftermarket ones kept falling out of the rocker cover when trying to install them which is a pain anyway going around the abs etc. never leaked again on either but the oem rubbers did sit much more snuggly in the groove.

dont forget step 9. get keen and repaint the rocker covers also if you are using new gaskets you shouldnt need gasket goo

i would say it makes more of a difference in traffic day to day where engine bay temps go up so more use in central aucks. could you lose the front and leave half of the ducting? would defeat the ram air effect but would still give it somewhere to suck cooler air from. e34s have them and everyone i have seen is missing or broken and havent heard of them dying 5 and 7 series v8s have water cooled alternators but i fail to see how pumping 110'c water through it helps keep temps down.

thats a very tidy example of a great car. incase anyone is interested these high compression motors are happy to have the later mr2 supercharger added on. no real mods required. would be a shame to mess with a mint car though Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2

just a quick update. i found someone to mod the ecu but its nearly a thousand dollars. will give it two weeks and if she is unsold i will be in a position to repair. so standing offer is $1600 firm. otherwise will fix it. Sent from my GT-I8160L using Tapatalk 2

a freinds father has a 550 SEC amg. about 1992. i drove it once, was a fast car but had a real boat feel to it, everthing further away so the cabin can share the experiance. i much prefer the bmw cockpit look where it all points to the driver.

http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/products/BMW-3-Series-E21-E30-E36-E46-E90-E91-E92-E93/Carrier--bumper-rear-8-KMH-=-5-MPH/1322626/51128195324.html so the bumper frame fits between coupe, sedan and touring so the mounting of this towbar should fit. it appears they have cut a small section from the bottom of the bumper to fit but this bumper seems to have an extended lower valance for the PDC anyway so may not need the cut. i have taken some photos as below, even circled what part is towbar in red haha all shots of the mounts are of the left side mount above the muffler as the othe side is blocked. the towball sit about level with the mounts despite looking quite tall its just because it drops so much behind the bumper. so eepect it to sit about level with the center of the bumper. can include wiring as well. PM me

just had a look and mine loops under the bumper and bolts behind the factory bumper mounts. some aftermarket ones look like they replace the entire bumper framing but this one seem to sit behind it. should be looking for a home if it suits
