Yep thoughts exactly, wikipedia said they are the same size down to less than 50mm in all directions except width the merc is slightly bigger but i didnt believe it, but because i own an E30 too i put them side by side and the measurements are right, suddenly the E30 looked like a big car. ill do a photo tomorrow if theres interest, tho the E30 has no bumpers at the moment lol

$5k should get you a pretty clean one. they usually sit around the $2-4k mark for a 2.5L. the V8s are more of course. Manual pretty much out of the question, ive only seen one and that was the 525iX i used to have. and your right about the 520i. my Touring used to be an M52B20 (M50B20 is the standard engine) so was slightly perkier than the normal 520i, but still a slug. You want a 2.5L minimum. Not from personal experience but aparently the M30 versions arent the way to go either, too thirsty when you could have more powerful and more efficient M60 for the same price bracket.

Id like to drive a fuel injected one. this one is an absolute slug though. this is AMG kitted and suspension though. Strangely stock wheels and carby engine though

Yep Startech, thier website is 4mercs.co.nz, i couldnt remember thier actual name agreed i think! hehe seen that! Its my Nanna's actually, its in her driveway for that pic as my driveway has got an E30 in pieces and a half made planter box! Im 6'3" there is no way thats mine lol

Didnt we already know all that? M3 Touring would be very cool. plenty of people around that have converted previous generations, dont think i have seen an E90 though?
-
Wow had never heard of one of these, that is stunning. i agree. is that why the E34 touring was born !?

what parts place have you used? i used www.4mercs.co.nz and they were pretty reasonable i thought. $161 for a fuel pump relay is aparently cheap (its merc specific), but based on the prices of the other bits i brought id believe him on that. mine has two fans i think, and it appears the engine mounted fan is welded so its direct driven off the engine at all rpm. this results in the engine only reaching 1/4 temp by the time i get to work so i need to fix that. havent inspected properly yet, though running cold is always better than hot, except that it means there is a next to useless heater inside which isnt pleasent on wellington mornings at 8am just need to buy a new merc emblem thingy for the bonnet and boot, and try the headlight plastic refreshing procedure John (Bellicose) wrote up and ill be happy. Not sure if ill attempt to do the tails as they arent flat as you know, but i saw another 190E on tuesday that had virginal rear taillights so im not sure if he had done that or brought brand new from MB. they were shiney!

Ti usually refers to hatchback, iT is touring, sorry to be anal lol. looks quite tidy though!

looked at it as i got out the merc. it looked at me back with puppydog eyes

Is it coincidence they are all chefs?

i think your eyes are broken

you can use the auto one, you just take away the plastic bit that has PRND321 on it so its just a hole. the shifter ball and boot you can get both from BMW though the boot may be cheaper to make yourself not sure

Rot62, but he hasnt owned that car for about a year now. sold to a non-Bimmersporter who now races it. one of the intermarque guys might remember the guys name, i can remember talking to him but im shocking with names, unless its work. go figure.
