yeah i used to have it too on my black E30, and dont mind it on white ones either, but other colours i dont for some reason, though in that case, i vote you smoke the headlights then! thats not a very hard job to do, you just need to disassemble the headlights, make up some crosshairs and put them in and then put back together. dont paint the glass thats the whorey way to do it. there is a write up on E30tech how to do it.

id like to know how much it roughly costed all up to do the vanos if you dont mind?

lots of people tell you that the medium and small case diffs arent interchangable, however i went from a small case to a medium case when i still had my M20 and didnt have to swap axels or driveshafts etc. aparently im the only one that didnt have to change them, not sure why. mind you i used E30 parts, and E30 medium cases might be hard to find and people use E34/E28 medium cases? dunno

i had a 3.67 (LSD) in my M52B28 E30. i would have gone for a 3.91 (i think? 3.9x anyways). you probably have something around there now so you might feel dissapointed with a taller one. though your fuel economy would increase

if the vanos is blown you loose a lot of low down torque, probably thats the issue. not the same engine or car, but my E34 525i sedan and 525i touring were quite different too with the touring being a lot slower off the mark, probably irrelevant but food for thought

sack/save up and get an LSD. an M50 in such a light car is lethal without one, especially given the way it is no doubt driven. noone puts an M50 in an E30 to drive like a nanna. if you cant afford to do a conversion properly, you shouldnt have done it in the first place

yeah i wasnt feeling 100% and was going to be the driver for 8 hours the next day lol. cant remember if it was 2dr or 4dr, wasnt a wagon or vert was what i meant by that! was going towards the K Road end
