  1. I used insulation tape. for 74.1-72.6 but it sounds like the type3's have an even bigger CB than 74? so you need to get some rings that go from the inside of the type3's to 72.x
  2. a battery killswitch to stop hotwirers? last time I tried to hotwire an E30, it was a major pain.. I mean if you bring a really big f**king hammer and a hacksaw you shouldn't have much issues... then again I gave breaking the steering lock a go, but I ended up just bending the wheel.... Besides you'd be better off just setting the OBC code, most people wouldn't pick that up.
  3. If it's EWS-I you can bypass it by cutting a wire. http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/286450-post3.html actually, it probably will work, if you put it into a car that doesn't have any EWS gear.
  4. You're on Vodafone still? Callforwarding? just get a cheap sim and keep some credit on it and have it forwarding to that number if you don't answer your primary phone.
  5. Take sidecutters, and just cut the metal rings. Mine were redone using back seat material. The recover kits from BMW cost $3,000 I asked once
  6. Did you get a Genuine rocker cover gasket or an aftermarket one? I've had 0 luck with Aftermarket ones. Unless you put RTV all over them (cough)

    X5 Offroading?

Doesn't someone on here use one on his farm?
  8. gearbox? Glovebox? Glovebox will be broken
  9. E34 Tourings are pretty much something you have to want an E34 Touring to own. I couldn't even sell mine for $2500.

    M5 :-)

Does anyone have insurance that covers you to drive other peoples cars :S
  11. Cut the wires for the brake sensor and tie them together.
  12. You'd be better off buying a 320d the 320d will get half of that economy and probably be twice as fast. Just get a good NZ New one.
  13. If it was a tow truck it would have probably been one of those little ClassII Hinos or whatever from a thousand years ago. I always find those to be driven by people who don't give a f**k.
  14. Saw my E34 looking sad, nobody has driven it in 10 days.
  15. I have some CX300-II's and really like them. There are some AKG's for around that mark.
  16. oh aye, Doesn't look too bad... definately worth checking it out - even if the insurer writes it off you could buyback and fix
  17. They're just slapping in a M57TUD230 into the new hilux. Even a generation or 3 old, it's still going to be better
  18. pictures. probably best to get it inspected properly. if it's just the suspension components and guard those are easy to replace.. but if it's all bent out of shape it slowly becomes less worth it.
  19. I could sell you my E34 touring... it's always looked after and serviced on time. (seriously, new rad, waterpump ect) I drive it once a week. $2500.
  20. Saw a blue/purple E36 Touring FAP11 (isn't this brents?) on what I think was the Western Motorway? let's just say, on some motorway in auckland.
  21. There's a nice E39 on sweet wheels with a BMW Europlate at this motel i'm staying it so much win.
  22. Saw all sorts of cool BMW's in Auckland when I went on to the huge motorway for the first time in my life :S wtf at merging traffic lights.
  23. It may be a really nice car, but unfortunately I do not think he will get far with no photos, and possibly the write up sounds a bit off putting for some people. But again, it's one of those cars that you buy because you want a manual 540i, not because you want to drive to work. Clearly the owner of the car isn't a salesman.
