  1. thanks for the share! great watch
  2. i also have those in my car, passed multiple WoF's and a cert also.
  3. just tell them to refer to the Consumer Guarantee's Act (s 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12) as to why you are upset over their refusal. They can't say sh*t like "you're too rough" especially when it's advertised as a toy that can be used for " drifting, sliding, and throwing up plumes of sand on dusty dirt tracks".
  4. http://www.rmeuropean.com/bmw-e30-m50-swap.aspx here's another one, don't know how true/applicable most of it is though
  5. Interesting, is this based on Bimmersport or USA sites?
  6. awesome work man, engine looks at home
  7. a more poetic translation would either be, "dead/deathly rich" meaning very rich, or "numbnuts/idiot/moron/why-are-you-so-dumb" meaning what i just wrote out haha
  8. don't know too much, but it aids lubrication, heat conduction. and it's a micro-filler that repairs some of the wear/tear if not too FUBAR'd If cleaning oil spray bar and increased revs reduces/eliminates the sound, i guess its to do with amount of oil getting to the lifters and oil pressure. Cleaning the oil spray bar is a good exercise, as it reduces cam wear. /dunno

just needed to hit enter in between a sentence. what happened? do you mean the oil return line from the turbo?
  10. Another little update, thanks for the tip Andy, ProMa MBL8 worked really well. Added recommended amount into oil and mixed before re-fill. Now engine hums along nicely without "TICK TACK" at all. Cleaning the oil bar only worked for a week or so, and soon the ticking came back. John, is there anymore technical ways to check the "T" junction? I just used air intake cleaner with the straw tip, and sprayed into it to check for leaks and spray pressure.
  11. what sort of issue? i also had a weird alignment figure at the back (e30), which was caused by a previous accident, and it was still there after a full re-bush. maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in with more info to your original post the same type as the one in there (manufacture recommended one)? I used lithium based because that's what was supplied to me when i fitted mine.
  12. IMO as to wear, probably material dependent (i.e not all polyurethane bushes are made from same composition of materials), but polyurethane bushes in general are seen to be "forever lasting " TBH, go with fresh OEM bushes to retain factory ride quality and handling characteristics. Replacing any old worn item with new will make the biggest difference, as opposed to material. Which car is it for? e30 or e36?
  13. happy birthday man, hope all's well!
  14. http://www.shockshop.co.nz/SL_GreyLynn.asp centreline suspension i think, is the one you are talking about. Another shop that's been mentioned few times here: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....heel++newmarket seems like you are familiar with the tech?
  15. ^ must be a very patient man The update where he printed a part to repair his 3D printer was awesome..pays for itself i guess (justification for all tool purchases )
  16. http://www.replicadb4.com/default.aspx Pretty cool
  17. ^ Noice, looking forward to gawking at it whilst in traffic. also, spotted a mint maroon 2002 (plate: 2 TON 2?) in Mt Eden....beautifully kept condition
  18. e36 coupe, slammed+dish.......f"ing epic stance. Was parked on Symond st/Mt Eden corner whose is it?? (it was those mercedes 5 spoke dished wheels)
  19. ^ was that a condom on his mouthpiece, to keep it dry? Funny ep, good to see the hosts having fun
  20. your 1990 would be a "face-lift" model, and the 1986 one is a "pre-facelift" model. The fog lights are different and aren't interchangeable. ask a wrecker or post a "want to buy" ad to see if people have some lying around for sale
  21. i got VDSL a couple of months ago (its fibre to transfer box, then just normal existing cables that deliver faster speeds). I had a 50% increase in speed, but it's unstable. Originally i thought i was getting fibre, but its not the same thing, as its jut ADSL2 on roids apparently. this costs $10 more a month, and from 1.3/1.4mbs down to 2.2mbs down, and 150kbs up to 550 kps up.
  22. stopped on the motorway's shoulder, after seeing a flailing black thing outside the driver's window....turned out to be my window trim. 1st time i've used the breakdown kit outside my driveway
  23. +1 also. been a while on FB also https://www.facebook.com/pages/NZ-BMW-Drift/183893931682678
  24. ^HA only shop i know of that opens Saturday is Pistop....but they aren't a BMW specialist. edit: lol, PITSTOP...no dis-respect to the people who work there (Grey Lynn and Albany ones at least). honest typo
