  1. Not much on a car needs 1/4" torque wrench. Get a 3/8th and use a 3/8-1/4 adapter if you need one. (I have a 1/4" torque wrench, but it's used on bicycles.) Manufacturer... @C-130 Hercules Hazet suggestion is a goo one. Don't bother with SnapOn (or similar) - try BluePoint instead. Facom are also very good.
  2. The biggest issue with any working decoder is that as soon as it is known to be working, it seems to get closed down. Are you using an ad blocker? If so, turn it off and try mdecoder again. That's worked for folk in the past. Or post your VIN here and someone may be able to help.
  3. Every time I go out I plan to call you. Can't afford another car, but it's been ages since we talked. 😔 No reception at home, and for now we're not supposed to go places.
  4. I've experienced less than great things... They're not bad, but they're nowhere near as good as H&R (for example).
  5. 350000km is nothing. Well, not nothing, but nothing to be concerned about provided it has been looked after. Nice car. But... Kerikeri? That's a long way from almost everywhere else in NZ.
  6. Not that one - it is a 1989 Bronzit coupe in Auckland.
  7. Looks nice, but I'm (personally) still struggling with the '5-figures is normal for an E30' pricing! Might have a facelift 325 auto in a good colour available...
  8. Given the condition, even that seems expensive! (To me...)
  9. Just seen a 1989 316i factory manual. Does look very clean and tidy. $15k. At this rate we'll have to sell the Baur. can't justify having that much money tied up in a car when we're planning to sort permanent housing.
  10. Just seen a de-reg shell for sale. No engine, gearbox, diff or interior. Asking $1500.
  11. Karmann and Baur made a massive contribution to motor vehicle production. Baur manufactured the BMW M1, the Porsche 959, the suspension components for the Audi Quattro, and a convertible version of the Mercedes G-Wagen.
  12. I'm fairly sure it's a photo-recreation, but it's a good one. And as you say, it is awesome!
  13. Had one... in DelphinGrau (similar to our Baur). Very nice car - given the asking on this, I wish I'd kept it! Same story with other cars, of course. Very nice, although (tbh) I preferred the Mercedes W126 SEC.
  14. Yup - and this has been my point for a while. Good cars are worth good money; scruffy ones are not, but many are being listed at - frankly - ridiculous prices. There's more than a little buyers remorse out there. So many vehicles are becoming VERY expensive. The "extremely rare" byline is accompanying many adverts and acting like clickbait. 2001 Land Cruiser for $45k? Well-worn Hiluxes for $15k++? I've driven both and really don't see the attraction, but presumably someone does.
