Do it. But get it checked by Glenn at Botany motor worx (forum sponsor) first. That will save you ALOT of money. Also, switching over to an msport is not so difficult - swap the front and rear bumpers, but I wouldn't bother with swapping the side skirts as there is not much difference imo. You could put msport springs and rollbars in for cheap, or as MD13 suggests spend a little more and go h&r and konis which is a big step up over standard. Oh, and paint the kidney grill surround black Also, if you can get the rego number of the car, we can then get the vin (by using carjam.co.nz) and then look up info on the car like what options it came from the factory with etc, as bmw keeps a record of this online.

Paul at Milland is excellent, and the service is incredibly prompt. I have also had great results from Gavin at EuroItalian. I usually email both and see who has the best price. And another big recommendation goes out to Glenn at Botany Motor Worx. He can come across a bit grumpy sometimes, but its just because he doesn't do shortcuts/bodges and gets annoyed when people advise others to do so. He really is fastidious and 'do it once, do it right' which is exactly what you want from a good mechanic. He is also extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help - he has saved my bacon many times.

Was this the Manukau branch? I have the same 'discount' card and took my wagon in to get a 'brake inspection and adjustment with written report'. After they finished I asked about the brake fluid, and they had forgotten to check it (!!!!!!!!!!) so they rushed into the carpark and checked it and said the level was ok. I asked what condition the fluid was in and whether it needed replacing and they just shrugged and said "um, it should be fine". Getting concerned I had to politely explain to them what a brake fluid tester was and that it checked the water content in the fluid to which they responded "oh, we don't have fancy tools like that". FFS those 'fancy' tools are only $200. And after several promises of their "written report" turns out there was no such thing. I had to get it checked elsewhere and it turned out the fluid was due for replacement. They shouldn't be advertising stuff they cant do properly, especially when it concerns safety. Rant over.

Surely 55's are not standard fitment for a 17 on an e46? My motorsport e46 had 225/45/17 for fronts from the factory. It would mess up the gearing and the speedo surely? Not to mention making the car sit higher.
