Thanks Allan, however I'm not sure which of the many sealants to pick.

That's what he does

There's a big difference between a bog-standard 323i (which is what we thought you had) and a 323i with a b30 and those mods. Now straight cut gears doesn't seem so ludicrously far-fetched.
-
I should have some spare E34 relays and modules if you need them.
-
Ah, you missed out the part about the M52B28 (Stroked to B30?). Also dogbox =/= dogleg. Dogleg refers to the shifter arrangement with 2-3 being straight up and down. Dogbox refers to the internal construction of the gears, and lack of synchros if memory serves.
-
Are you sure they weren't genuinely delusional? I can't for the life of me see why you put a fancy box in a 323i, (320i maybe, for class reasons) and if they happened to have one sitting around surely they'd have a bigger engine to put it behind. I also shouldn't have clicked on those links... Straight cut gears for my spare 265 would be interesting.

What size tyres/wheels are you running?
-
I've also seen Bridgestone do buy one get the 2nd tyre half-price deals, and yes it applied to RE003s (at least in 225/45R17). Also, @qube has the right idea about buying two sets and splitting it.

Currently undertaking some remedial work on my E28. Which has involved taking the guards off. What is the best way to remove the goopy sealant stuff and then what do I replace it with when I reattach the guard? Also, I need to touch up the rocker panel protective coating and the rubberised underbody sealant. What should I use here (For each since I'm assuming they require different, but similar products)
-
E28 mudguards, probably the most pointless thing in existence. All they do is get in the way and retain mud... (yes that's a bucket full of crap that came out)
-
@Michael. the key there is that's leather, not cloth. The cloth in this M5 looks "ok", I would much prefer a leather or darker/less busy cloth. And a pity about the steering wheel as well it's just so boring even in a cooking spec 520i

So far I've gotten, "you want a what?!?" Also unfortunately I'm being pestered to keep my current wheels as they're the correct wheels for it. Which I can kinda agree with as it's pretty original for an ex army FFR landy. So now my thinking is to grab some more road based tyres for the 5" rims and buy some manlier rims and wheels a 2nd set
-
If you're dead set on an m54 they came in the e61 for a couple of years
-
I've decided to go for a more onroad oriented tyre, and in 7.50 as the 5" rim means I can't get the height any other way. I was thinking these were cheap enough for what they were? https://www.trademe.co.nz/1426036227

SAT's are quite hard to find in good condition now. Which Deestone? http://www.tyreline.co.nz/deestone/ D503? Also are they radial or cross ply?
-
Thoughts on these? https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1426303495 https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1427098064 I've been asking around tyre shops about 7.50R16's and they're either stupidly expensive, a truck tyre or both. I've also been having a hard time finding tyres narrow enough (stupid 5" rims) and with a high enough profile (hence looking for 7.50R16s)
-
I'm not overly familiar with the E28 AC system (never seen it in person), but I'd imagine you can use the existing E28 setup and an appropriate compressor (E28 or M30 if they handle the same system/gas).

"A true enthusiast, the M1 followed him during his incredible career that brought him and the M1 to almost every continent. South Africa, New Zealand, Mexico, Arizona and eventually Miami." We're clearly the best though as it still has our sticker

I'd suggest using all e28 parts if possible, unless the e34 parts provide a significant improvement. It's the pain of doing the swap vs what improvements you get
-
Yes, but it did take them all day to get there. I was driving the work Prius once, tried to overtake a truck on a passing lane, gave up... (I was used to driving cars that still had some acceleration left after 50Km/h)

$1500 buy now added

Body kit, normally better spec'd, sports seats, Shadowline, anthracite headlining, better wheels etc. The actual suspension is not normally a consideration if it's original, as any suspension that old has probably seen better days regardless of if it's Mtech or not.
-
@Gabe79 a bumper is not what I would class as a wear and tear item (ie general maintenance), but I will give you that. However regards to suspension, a quick look on FCP suggests there's not too much in it, but why not go bilstein, koni or similar (and eibach, h&r etc)?
-
What are your thoughts on those tyres? They seem really cheap (on Trademe at least)
-
@Gabe79 I'm not sure this msport tax exists like you think it does (m tax yes, msport no). I fail to see how cosmetic features, parts that don't break (springs, sway bars etc) and other options that you can have on non mspec cars cost more to maintain. The one exception might be sport shocks cost more, but this has self levelling suspension which is equally expensive if not more so, making it a moot point. Edit: I'd like to see your more expensive parts on your mtech 2. And I agree with your wife that this isn't the most visually interesting e39
