  1. With those mods you could comfortably run the stage 2+ map. Pretty sweet deal to have all those mods come with the car, considering the cost and effort it takes to have that added to a stock car
  2. Could just be one of the common faults that can happen with the car. Just make sure it gets fixed by someone reputable and the repair is done properly. Personally I'd only go through the hassle of returning the car if I was unhappy with the repair. Things break on these cars, one issue doesn't make the car a lemon.
  3. Damn, I still kinda want one as a weekend toy, but I'm too deep into the 335i to switch now. M3 for the weekend and a cheap commuter car for the week would be nice.
  4. Mine was at Pukekohe, they had a Grabone special for a single 20 min session last year.
  5. Nice. Still only been to one track session myself and badly want to do it again. It was sooooo fun. Hope I can film my next time like that too.
  6. No need to pull the fuel pump fuse, MHD was updated so it doesn't spin up the fuel pump. But that shouldn't be the problem (Edit: N55 version, not 100% sure this applies to N54) Make sure when the flash starts, the cables are in firm and you DO NOT move them, the cheapo Ebay cables are finicky. And do not open/close doors, make sure fans are off and headlights are off to minimise power use. I notice closing/opening doors can interrupt the flash. If that fails, maybe its your cable or adapter, try another if you can. If your battery isn't in the best shape than can be the issue. You'll need to have it connected to a charger... or hooked up to another car with jumper cables. I've been lucky, done numerous full 20 min flashes with no external power!
  7. I had an E46 328i before so an E9x would be more of a change. It would be my daily so the extra comfort made sense too. If it was going to be a second/weekend car or I didn't drive to work, then I would have picked the m3. 335i has a decent list of modifications though, with the intention of being a track toy too
  8. I'd suggest asking the well known workshops for recommendations. BM Workshop, Bellars, maybe the dealers. I know HellBM does reinforcements. Welded or epoxied reinforcement should be fine, even if not perfect they still massively extend the time before cracks occur. Everything breaks eventually...
  9. Must have been a very enjoyable 8 hour drive in that M3. E46 M3 or E92 335i was the decision I had to make when car shopping. I have my reasons for choosing the 335i... but it wasn't an easy choice. Any mod plans?
  10. Nice. I'd suggest getting the subframe re-enforced if it hasn't been. Much cheaper to do it before it cracks! And that'll give you some good peace-of-mind.
  11. Ah so that's yours. I work nearby and drive past occasionally, I've noticed it Edit: Misread, thought the 850i was yours. Wonder if the owner comes on here?
  12. This one? https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1688348155.htm?rsqid=a657ad04bdf248f9b51a9b1bfa9a227e Only one on Trademe I can find right now. At that mileage I'd say it'll be a while before you have any engine issues to worry about. They're quite rare and I think they're a bit more special than an M3 because of this. M3 engine and drivetrain in a smaller, lighter body to make it even more of a sports car... it's kinda like a Toyota GT 86 but with a proper engine fit for a sports car Damn this makes me wish I could buy it.
  13. You got me there... there's also Youtube and Google Play for movies, which doesn't require me to buy special hardware. So yeah movies are mostly covered and I can't really whine about that. I did end up pirating Wonder Woman when I couldn't find a legal online option for 4k at the time, only 1080p... But you still can't get most TV shows without signing up for monthly subscriptions from Amazon ect? I watch so few TV shows it's hard to justify a subscription. I'd much rather buy them by the season... I do subscribe to Google Play Music. I use it to stream music in my car so that's worthwhile.
  14. And that is why it's easier to just pirate everything. You get the best quality with no BS or ads... All I want is a service where I can buy movies and TV shows online with no subscription, and get the best quality. But right now the easiest and best option is the free and illegal one
  15. That's awesome. Just remember you risk getting hit with import duties past $400. Still probably worth it though. But if enough people see this and take advantage of it, customs won't have time to check them all haha. I wish this happened two weeks ago when I ordered suspension parts (M3 control arms and some other bits),
  16. The PS4 are a perfect match for a 335i especially if it's tuned. Eagle F1 Assymetrics are great too, in my experience they're less grippy than a PS4 in the dry but grippier in the wet. Not by a huge margin though. So in NZ either of them are a good option... Seeing as I have a set of wheels with each, maybe I should swap back to the Goodyears for whats left of winter
  17. Quite a few of us on here with them. Maintenance is hell but driving them is wonderful

    Quick rant thread.

Ambulance take time, hours sometimes. If I needed to get someone I knew to the hospital urgently, I wouldn't care about the speed limit either. Anyone else's opinion on that wouldn't be a concern. I don't care much for slightly exceeding the limit though. Going 120 on a motorway doesn't instantly make you a terrible person. Obstructing traffic by needlessly sitting in the right line sure does though! There's a special section in hell for them
  19. Careful, VRSF are a bit dodgy in that they will not say anything if the part doesn't fit RHD. Check that first. Got burned on that with the E series N55 downpipe. The secondary O2 can't be connected as the steering rack is in the way. Fine to use it that way but MHD can't clear the check engine light which is a little annoying.
  20. I feel like a $17k 135i will need at least 5-8k of work over the next few years. Keep that in mind for your budget. Repair bills with these turbo engines are higher than the E46 generation.
  21. Does it take a couple seconds to start up when cold but starts up instantly when warm? If battery is good, it's common for the high pressure fuel pumps to cause this issue when they get old. It causes a shadow code relating to fuel pressure, which can be read with MHD. Code 2BDE if I remember correctly.
  22. Do you value good handling over just being low? I'd suggest just looking for a suitable shock/spring combination. You'd get better quality for you money, and you won't need a cert.
  23. Do those people even bother with certs? I thought they just try to avoid getting caught...
  24. I get about 11cm of clearance at the front with the KWV2s on my E92. I'm pushing the limits in some car park buildings and driveways. Any non-sealed road requires extreme caution. I'd agree with post above suggesting 100mm as a minimum, any lower and you''ll have major hassles getting around. And a sump as the lowest hanging part... lol I would not be comfortable with that. At least on mine it's the chassis and exhaust depending on the area so I can afford to have it touch the ground on occasion.
