  1. Evening, Long story short. We bought a 2012 F30 328i from Auckland City BMW exactly a year ago. The car had tints installed which seemed legal at the time as the car came with a brand new WOF at the time (April 2016). The WOF was done at the Auckland City BMW workshop. A year went by and it was time to get a new WOF. Surprise surprise! the car failed the WOF at VTNZ because the tints were illegal (30% on the front and 20% on the rear). So, I thought I would give Auckland City BMW a call and discuss the matter. First time, I got told that they would get back to me on the matter. Never got a call back. Rang up the second time and got the same response. Now, I am not expecting Auckland City BMW to install new tints, but at least acknowledge that oops it was a genuine mistake! Nope. So, any recommendations as to where to go for new tints? And bearing in mind the old ones will need to be removed, what sort of costs am I looking at? Cheers.
  2. @eliongater Not just the Engine, but those E34 M5 brakes would be another good swap.
  3. I wonder what it will sell for, 15k maybe? It would have some rare parts that would be worth a bit.
  4. The 130i is a fantastic little car but might be a little small for you. CRV + Z4 would be a great option as said above.
  5. Barry, it was a pleasure to meet you and see your car in person!
  6. When you spot another E28 that's come up from Wellington!
  7. Elijah, I am in the same boat as you. I have an aftermarket Nakamichi CD player but I am planning to replace it with a tape player. A tape player just looks right in an E24/E28/E30. I am planning on ordering some tapes too - Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Metallica...
  8. pistonheads.com? I love that site. You see some interesting cars there.
  9. Welcome Ian. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
  10. Lol. Similar story with a black E30 325i vert that got sold for $8k a year ago. Now asking 14k!
  11. Yeah that would be great.
  12. Yes that would be great. Btw, the car looks fabulous!
  13. Fair call as yours is in immaculate condition. I had mine independently valued (for insurance purposes) at 15k and that was last year. The insurer had seen another white M535i with a lot less kms than mine and that got valued at 18k. Btw, still waiting to see some pics with Style 5 wheels! I have noticed the E30 Mtechs and E24s have started climbing in prices too.
  14. I would agree with Brent. You could even say 6-8k for auto, 10k onwards for the manuals in good nick.
  15. Cheers for all the replies. Unfortunately, I found another compact car that might dethrone the 130i from my list. Yep, a Mini Cooper S. It's a 2013 with N18 engine and done 22000kms which is suppose to be more reliable than earlier ones.
  16. I spotted a bright Red Z3 that sounded like it had a V8 in it at Botany yesterday. Sorry couldn't get a pic/video in time.
  17. G'day, As title states, I am looking for a E82 135i coupe in Auto. Send me a pm or sms on 021 1804565. Regards.
  18. So, I took a 130i for a test drive. Absolutely loved it. The compactness, the solid and planted feel on the road and the noise from the gorgeous 3.0L straight six. That engine really sings.
  19. Actually, I did look at those. The SP23 2007 hatchback. But they are around the 17-18k mark for the low k ones. So it made more sense to get a 130i instead.
  20. Cheers Paul, I might just do that. I have to get an auto, so other family members can drive it as well. The compact factor was a big plus for ease of parking and zooming around in traffic.
  21. Cheers Kyu. Might just try to get a 135i or a E92 335i then.
  22. Morning everyone, Thinking of picking up a 130i M sport as a daily. I have seen a few on trademe for the 18k-20k mark with 50,000kms on the clock. Reliable cars? And fun to drive? Any issues to look out for ? Cheers.
  23. Yes but I knew the BMW zealots would pounce on his ad anyway.
  24. I sent him the following message 'People don't know the value of these cars, they will be worth a lot in the coming years, just look at the E30 M3! Your asking price is very reasonable for such a sought after classic and should generate fair amount of interest'
