  1. IMO, If a person is buying this as an investment at 175k I think it's a bad idea. If I had 150k-200k and I wanted to invest in cars especially, I would start at E87 1M coupe/E28/E34/E39 M5 /E46 M3 CSL.
  2. The one that requires least maintenance.
  3. Did the car have AP springs in it when you brought it to the meet? I remember it had a nice stance to it then.
  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1054835891 Was planning on putting it in the car but changed my mind.
  5. Hi Barry, You could try http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBD-Inspection-Oil-Service-Reset-Tool-for-BMW-E28-E30-E34-E36-E38-E39-20-Pin-/331588175950?hash=item4d3432084e:g:ML8AAOSw~gRVh5q2&item=331588175950&vxp=mtr It seems the tool is the same for E30 and the E28.
  6. IMO, you will get bored of this very quickly. End of the day, I would rather take a car with power and good handling than audio/looks/inflatable hot chick in the passenger seat. Here's an E39 540i exhaust clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD_OdUxvXIQ
  7. Thanks Matt, will keep that in mind. Car is still getting complied so haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
  8. Thanks for that info d_f, will be speaking to the guys from Botany Motor Works/BM workshop about PPI before committing to the sale.
  9. G'day everyone, We are looking at the following car on trademe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1035531612.htm What are the things to watch out for in these cars? This one has the I-drive system. Are they reliable? I have read to stay away from the 2.0 Engines (320i) therefore looking at the 325i. Also, I will be doing a PPI check with BM workshop or Botany Motor Works before committing to the sale. Worth getting a mechanical warranty? Thanks

  11. I have RE003 on mine. 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rears. Very quiet and the handling is very good in the dry. If you ring the Bridgestone shops, usually they are ready to give you a discount with warranty.
  12. F10 M5 at Air New Zealand simulator training centre. Lovely colour.
  13. You also can't do a PPI on a car you are planning on importing yourself, whereas the one from the dealer you can do a PPI for peace of mind.
  14. You have a 540i E39 manual for sale?
  15. Yeah good point but there's an E28 M535i sitting in the garage that would be my preferred option for some fun driving. The E39 would be more for daily duties, or the plan is. E39 vs E34, I prefer the looks of the E39 to be honest. But each to their own I suppose.
  16. Cheers for the replies. Yeah, looking at factory manual setup rather than conversions. But still tempting aja540i. Haven't seen any on trademe but will keep an eye out.
  17. Is the same car you brought to the meet yesterday Martin? Didn't just look good but it sounded absolutely fantastic! GLWS, wish I had the moolah for it.
  18. I am guessing these are quite rare. Would someone know how many of these are in New Zealand? After seeing Brent's 540i and Martin's E39 M5 (sounds amazing too) I think I am getting the E39 bug for a daily. Thanks.
  19. That's always sad to hear. But still beautiful to look none the less.
  20. You might get lucky with BM World, Papakura, Auckland. Brent is very helpful and he knows a thing or two in regards to upgrading E28s. There's also a white M535i on trademe sold for parts. Not sure if the suspension is available, you could do a deal and get the shocks, springs & sway bars.
  21. http://www.ebay.de/itm/AP-Federn-Springs-Tieferlegung-40-30-FS20-228-BMW-5er-E28-6er-E24-/361301707619?fits=Platform%3AE28&hash=item541f428b63:g:n1oAAOSwpDdVXKq7 117 Euros with 43 euros for shipping.
  22. Have you guys tried registering and then opening the site?
  23. Wow, E46 M3s are slowly dropping in price. Yep 18k for a 330ci in this day and age is quite the asking price.
