http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1082773065.htm Anyone already seen this car in person? This is a nice example but is slight high on the Ks though. What do you guys think this for a daily? Thanks

That sends alarm bells ringing. I think this car would have some hidden rust issues for sure.
-
Yep, thinking of getting this. And various other E39 540s that are for sale on trademe, along with some gorgeous E38s, and some E28 have popped too. Not to mention the E28 M5 and E30 M3 that are on trademe too. But in all seriousness, the above mentioned 330ci seems like a looked after specimen and it's black with sunroof!

G'day everyone, The ABS light has illuminated on the dash, the car is a 1987 E28. The light only comes on when I start driving forward. But stays off during start and idle. With the help of another forum member, we cleaned the front left wheel speed sensor but the right sensor won't come off and seems to be permanently stuck. Any tips of getting this sensor off? From what I have read online, the plan is to take all four sensors offline and then attach them back in one by one and see when the light comes to diagnose the faulty one. And or, with the help of a voltmeter test the resistance of each sensor and the one that gives the erratic reading would most likely be the faulty one. Also, is it possible with the use of the diagnostic tool for the E28 to find the fault? Anyone had this issue before and tips as to what did you do to to rectify? Thanks

Looking forward to seeing this in person at the next Auckland meet.

BMW Paint and interior protection, worth it?

Cheers for the replies everyone. Looks like I will be waxing it myself from time to time. Andrew, your f10 535i is out of the budget but would love to have two 535i in the garage. -
G'day everyone, A new BMW is being added to the family, a 2012 F30 328i. The dealer has also offered BMW Paint and Upholstery protection for $1000 with lifetime warranty. Is it snake oil or actually worth it? And will it help with the resale value in 3-4 years time? Regards,

E30 coupe? When I was hunting around for a BMW, I saw a gorgeous black E30 325i convertible with tan leather and manual for $7k and it looked absolutely mint! I was just a little late in contacting the buyer but I would love to have one in the garage.

Steve, if you don't mind me asking what camera and lens are you using for these shots? Regards

Another option, M parallels.

Maybe, I would opt for BBS Rs or polished style 5.

IMO, If a person is buying this as an investment at 175k I think it's a bad idea. If I had 150k-200k and I wanted to invest in cars especially, I would start at E87 1M coupe/E28/E34/E39 M5 /E46 M3 CSL.

The one that requires least maintenance.

Did the car have AP springs in it when you brought it to the meet? I remember it had a nice stance to it then.
