  1. Bought one thanks. Will see if it's better.
  2. Tried that. It just slips on the nut and will round it. Maybe my kit sucks.
  3. Fronts on an E36. Usually I don't have an issue, but someone seems to have done them up so tight that they feel they are going to round before breaking loose. Doesn't help that access is a bit sh1t for larger tools. Have tried open ended wrenches and my flare nut wrench set (it skipped). Would prefer to undo at the brake line nut as I'm biffing the calipers (and the hoses after this). Any suggestions? Thanks
  4. Just to add, headlamps rocking the depo fade effect. Brake discs made half a turn lately. Headers look tiny for a V8. Tacky exterior touches.
  5. So its okay to do it as long as its behind their back? 😉 Don't forget potential buyers and sellers can read all the opinions here and elsewhere just as easily. I don't think you're going to derail a $23k 330ci listing with a comment stating the obvious?
  6. C'mon, sure you told you reckons more than a few times on this public forum.
  7. Wtf is an outcry auction anyway? One where everyone objects?
  8. It will be auctioned by Turners so 'estimated price' means nothing really. Actually, I have reported them a few times for click bait 'low' prices but trademe does nothing as usual.
  9. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3845529040?tm=email&et=45&mt=E38CAC46-3A46-49E3-9B70-D4296F4D69FE Back again. Still under Rose City ownership. My 25k offer is still good 😝
  10. 6k no reserve manual in Christchurch https://www.trademe.co.nz/3819268639
  11. I had a Boomerang as my first buggy. We got it on a trip to Singapore when i was College adged. Always wanted a Bigwig! The dual shock setup looked much better than the mono and I liked the flat dished wheels better too.
  12. Now that's (part of) a beautiful collection Dave. That's exactly the kind of thing I'm hoping to slowly amass myself. I would be keen on the avante of course.
  13. I lucked in on the fronts. 330i ones for $350 'second hand', but new in the boxes. It pains me to pay more for the much smaller rears 🤣
  14. I'm contemplating those rear discs too, as I have dba slotted and vented fronts, but they're not cheap ($379).

It's cheap, but the market seems quite flat right now.
  16. Looking at possibly collecting some old Tamiya, Kyosho, Team Associated, Team Losi which I could never afford as a child. If anyone has or knows of any please let me know. PM is best. Jon/mods, please remove if not allowed.
  17. I can think of at least half a dozen reasons to use the Q&A over a phone call, but mostly I just prefer to use the technology as provided.
  18. 2003 BMW 325i https://www.trademe.co.nz/3800507343 Thoughts? I originally assumed people wanted it for the six cyl/manual setup but it seems to have gone past that price for some reason?
  19. This one looks good too, although it's down my ways and the Q&A responses disappointed somewhat. *** removing recommendation as seller is being deceptive by having questions / observations removed from his listing ***
  20. Exhaust looks a little underwhelming for a V8? Be fine on a 4 cyl.
  21. It looks nice (best colour imho), but plenty of manuals to choose from right now. I'd tend to not pay over 10k for one, so this seems about right. What brand are the wheels? See what service history it has and if the usual culprits have been addressed (water pump, thermostat, valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, sump gasket, coils, plugs, etc, etc.) This claim sounds very dubious if my memory serves me... "Even in third gear, on a dry road, you'll light up the traction light if you plant the foot." Check the tyres aren't rock hard rubbish.
  22. They are a Tademe set too if we're splitting hairs (a lot of places like Speedfactor list there). Rebranded KW if I recall correctly. Probably on par with most offerings. I was going to get some for my 1 series but ended up selling it.
  23. Two clicks on the handbrake and you should able to turn the wheels by hand with some force. Three clicks and you shouldn't. I've never seen a handbrake tested while moving with a meter. That would be kinda dumb.

    Quick rant thread.

Drove from Kapiti to Hastings yesterday with car transporter in tow, only to find a car a lot rougher than pictured / described and seller only willing to drop $100 so turned around and drove home. Day on the road yay. Was to be my son's first project car to motivate him to get his licence. He's gutted but proud of him for knowing to walk away. Lots of farmers pushing 3 waters and jesus propaganda out that way (ironically, also council signs saying to 'conserve water' lol) and pot holes ffs!! If I dodged them with the truck, then the rental trailer would line em up perfectly. Surprised it's still in one piece after the trashing it copped. 😆
  25. They spend the headlamp budget to feel like a jag?
