  1. What has amazed me (and this is not specific to E30 sorry) is how one asking price can skew the entire market. What I mean is, once someone raises the bar (whether they sell or not {in most cases not}), others follow for no aparant reason. For example, the first E36 M3 priced over 40K (when most were previously around $25k) has been for sale for over two years now, but nearly every one offered to the market since has followed that price, even though the OG car (i.e. the ceiling smashing car) has never sold. Unfortantely, the same trend seems to be hitting some parts I need, to the point where I think I'll just get a Honda with the same HP for $5k. 😁
  2. If it's the same one earlier on this page, then it doesn't look like it.
  3. Don't bait them. A quick dusting will see another $10k added to the asking price.
  4. Beaurepairs sourced mine. Never registered it.

    New driver

My son is learning in a manual and going to sit his test in a manual even though his car is an auto. Makes sense to learn a manual is my thinking.
  6. I might have got the price a little wrong. It did have a reserve at $29k. The $36 doesn't seem unreasonable to me - I would try and knock a little off. Not now obviously.
  7. This is back within 6 months. It's gone from $29k to $36k in that time? I tried to find out what's changed (genuinely interested and have cash). As you can see seller got sh!tty from the get-go and has blacklisted me for not conforming to his preferred method of communication. His feedback is an interesting read, probably dodged a bullet there anyway. 🤔 Anyone else planning on having a crack?
  8. There's a bit of a E34 appreciation thread brewing here:

  10. https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/130623517/police-call-for-information-after-near-miss-captured-on-camera Horrific piece of 'driving'.
  11. Hi Rodney, just to let you know. I searched E46 on your website and only got one result. You might want to look into that?
  12. I see this is still on trademe past the auction date. Anyone know if it sold?
  13. That was a good buy that one. Brand new and asking less than some I've seen that have been well used.
  14. Imagine being one of those promo girls and having to pretend you give a sh**
  15. My son has this one from an E36 compact, asking $100
  16. I feel your pain, having recently gone through my own HID headlight saga with my local WOF merchants. One garage failed them outright (and refused to budge when reminded of the rules) but the vehicle testing equilivant here eventually passed them. Slightly different cirmcimstances I appreciate (refer my build thread), but esstentially my suggestion would be to get some less intense / yellower H3 bulbs (or whatever style it accepts) and then try somewhere else for a pass.

    WTB M54B30

Hi Regan, M54B30 engines seem to be thinning out a bit lately. There's a few wanted ads on here for them. The ones I've seen come up on Tardeme recently have been quite pricey at around $3k complete. Realistically, they're probably worth around $1K - $1.5K, at least that's what I've paid. Check my thread. I'm going down a similar route - aiming to incorporate aftermarket parts where I feel they make a good upgrade from factory composites, etc. Things amassed so far include, steel pullies (waterpump and powersteer), braided vanos line, alimunium thermostat housing, alimunium cam cover, etc. I'm also swapping to an M50B25 inlet manifold to delete the disa, ccv, etc (I have a 'Seems Legit', {legitimately expensive} conversion kit for that, but will have to make my own hose setup as I didn't want to remortgage). Most of the bits I've bought have had to come from overseas (ECS mostly) with the exception of the Chase Bays vanos line which if I recall was economical to buy locally. The other bits were cheaper offshore, even when factoring in USD$100 shipping per order. Don't forget the clutch kit if you're going manual. Plenty of choice in clutches locally, but I sourced all the bushes, etc from the US again.
  18. Best confirm brand etc BMW Electric Waterpump N52 https://www.trademe.co.nz/3874965534
  19. Same here. First experience with these seats in mine. The lack of sweat in the heat is a welcome change.
  20. Bought this ugly duckling. Struggling to find much info online - it's a modified Hoptron Eagle. The original body has been replaced with 3D printed parts to turn it into a "frame buggy". I'm interested to see what it is supposed to look like. Quality feels on-par with Tamiya Hotshot era cars, which is nice, because when I bought it I thought it might not be hobby grade (aka a toy), but it sees to be.
  21. There was also that silver one with black and blue interior and 19" M3 wheels that was for sale in the Hutt earlier this year. Pretty sure that sold by a dealer for around 20k too. I tried and failed to find the thread. These really are a performance bargain in full fat M guise.
  22. Yeah, that's not the asking price. I hate these listings, they should be banned.
  23. 2000 BMW Z3 M Roadster https://www.trademe.co.nz/3838500285 USA spec. This guy was very rude and agressive in declining my offers close to 3 years ago (telling me i'm dreaming / trolling, etc and then blacklisting me). It's taken a few years of no interest to be fair, but I think he's finally realised he imported an inferior model (all the Z3M postering in the listing). Now asking less than I initially offered. Someone please take it off his hands and reshell it into a RHD car. Would still be cool to see it saved. 😎
  24. Not my cuppa tea, but each to their own. Would have expected a manual box for 30k??
