  1. I second that, Paul's pretty good, all OEM products too...he's also a member on here von rip snorter or something like that!
  2. I have been to the old US grand Prix, Silverstone and Albert Park a few times and out of those 3 i preferred Albert Park for atmosphere! I like the Jones or Prost stands as they are on and on the run to the straight also if you can get your hands on a pit pass it's fully worth the extra $. If you know your way around a big city and are going with a couple of people i wouldn't bother going in a group to Melbourne, or if you are keen to go to Europe, what about going to a top speed track like Hockenheim or Monza and with the Euro getting weaker by the day could be a reasonable option.
  3. I agree with the others in regards to pollen filter having done mine just at xmas with the same problem, is a little tricky, i found the filter harder to get out then in strangely Brent did a good how to here... http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=14148
  4. Yeah, I went and had a look at this. The young dude said he was selling it on behalf of his mum but i wasn't really convinced...i considered grabbing it but a few too many issues and kms for me and just don't have the time to be playing with another project...Great price though and glad it is going to someone who will take car of it.
  5. What about New Zealand Performance Tuning? A friend had his Audi B5 tuned by them and raved about their work.
  6. My cousin fell asleep in a Ford explorer and crashed through a fish and chip shop very early one morning (luckily) and i'm 99% positive AMI was his insurer and they paid out for all the costs. Feel bad for the guy but like the other fellas said, always 2 sides to every story.
  7. Hey guys just in case anyone is after a spoiler lip for an E36, i have one on trademe right now. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=447457178
  8. Another bump, but cheers heaps for the pics and instructions Brent, Like Chris i was amazed by the difference and how much cr@p was on the filter!
  9. Welcome mate, plenty of BMW goodness here to help you along the way!
  10. I think if you are so unhappy (and from your side, sounds like you have a right to be!) you should ask the MTA to have mediation with this company! Here's a link that may be helpful, particularly the piece i have cut and pasted! http://www.cab.org.nz/vat/tt/mvd/Pages/Generaladvice.aspx I think my mechanic has been ripping me off. How can I prove it? If you think your mechanic is charging too much or has done unnecessary work – or worse, claims to have done something but hasn’t - ask for a second opinion from another mechanic. If the second opinion is radically different from the first, you should ask for an explanation. Different garages charge different amounts for labour and the price of parts can also vary, so it is best to simply ask your mechanic for an account that lists each item the money has been spent on, i.e. labour, parts, shipping, etc. You can also ask to see any faulty parts removed from the car as proof of what they’ve done. If you can’t settle a dispute with your mechanic, and they are a member of the MTA, you can ask the MTA to mediate (call 0508 682 633). For more information, see their webpage on mediation. If things still seem unreasonable, you can take the mechanic to the Disputes Tribunal.
  11. I like your thinking ^^ and can't agree more.
  12. I have a roller and am coming through Chch mid feb if you wanted to borrow it overnight but would suggest if your paints in good nick to get the panel beater too do it.
  13. Nope, i have had no issues! This might be because it has not been updated as i'm assuming it needs to be plugged into my phone or modem for this to happen.
  14. Hi guys, the missus brought back my car with a window stuck half way up I pulled it too bits and found it had come off the tracks so put it all back together (adding grease to the very dry tracks) and after a little trial and error with the guides had it going normal (ish) ... until i found that the glass at the top pillar corner was not lining up and going over the outside of the rubber. Is there a trick to this or something i may have missed why this is happening? Cheers heaps
  15. Just a wee copy from wiki: 1-Italy Ferrari - 217 2-United States Ford - 176 3-France Renault - 142 4-Germany Mercedes-Benz - 88 5-Japan Honda - 72 So would have to think that Ferrari is top of the tree Like Apex said, if turbos are to return to F1 (which Bernie E and also Ferrari are pushing hard against) i'd think that Renault are definitely the likely front running engine, due to their already large turbo programme but could never write off the other big manufacturers and their $$ getting the job done.
  16. Ahhh i remember these roaring down the straight from Fangio in 02!! I think historically, Honda have made the better turbo engine! Comparing GP3 to F1 is like comparing apples to oranges due to regulations, differences etc, remembering when F1 were using turbos they were V6 1500cc turbos putting out up to and over 1000kw! If Turbos ever come back to F1 (More than likely will never happen again) every manufacturer is going to be on the back foot.
  17. Some friends imported some containers of older 70's and 80's Japs late last year from the states and imported it all as scrap metal, so only had to pay a few hundred dollars (under $300 i think) for several tonnes of parts and made a packet selling as spares to boy racers and enthusiasts! This sounds very similar what you are doing!
  18. I would think so, have had the same issue before! Hey guys, do e36 318is shocks and springs fit my e36 318i? Cheers
  19. I agree, Freeview does appear better than Mysky! I don't have anything fancy... have MySky hooked up to 2 tv's, freeview on another and a couple of full hd media-players.
  20. I'd buy one and not listen to any advice, cos what would ^^ those guys know
