  1. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+read+the+date+on+goodyear+tyres Sorry had to do it!
  2. I guess the lesson to be learnt would be to get a pre-inspection whether it's from a car dealer or not, was the previous work you had done covered by warranty? I'd hang on too it and like Alan said, older cars do need maintenance which all needs to be factored in when buying, at least when you do/have all the work done you have that peace of mind knowing it's done.
  3. I don't really use additives often and would rather change the fuel filter and run a decent octane gas! When i have used one I would of used Nulon but TBH don't really notice a hell of a lot of change when i have used them before.
  4. Quite a few people i know have removed them from cars so I would assume it would be fine to drive, as i think the Cat Converter is really only for sound and emmisions... might pay to google it too be sure!
  5. Did you try this suggestion? Sometimes it's the most simple things that catch you out aaaannd air pockets can be a b!tch to get out sometimes!
  6. Did this not explain anything to you!? I have bought parts off Paul since i bought my first e36 a few years ago, he goes above and beyond and even delivered some parts to my house that i needed ASAP. All the parts have been German made and some cheaper than half the dealership was charging :/ He is also a member on here "vonripsnorter"
  7. Lol I know! I'm up in odds at the mo to find a e36 325 or 328 or go with an e39...
  8. Sweet, i'm gonna hit them up. My usual guy in Waverly is booked hard for the next 2 weeks and the 2 others i checked were charging quite a little more than that!
  9. lol hit Milland up today about filter and gasket, who did you take yours too and what did they charge?
  10. Thanks for that, I did a little reading and it does seem a little tricky... when you say wheels turning, do you mean on jack stands, engine running and in gear
  11. Thanks guys, ill look at changing trans oil and filter next weekend. Dextron 3 right? Do you think there would there be any benefit going synthetic with the old auto? Cheers
  12. Hey guys, I have noticed a couple of times this week that my e36 auto, almost seems to slip for a second from a standing start so I tried on my driveway that has a slight angle and it does seem to slip just a little, strange thing is if i put it in 1st gear this problem does not occur anymore and it grabs fine. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? I've had a search and have found a few could be's but would be good if anyone has a good idea. Cheers

    WOF Laws

I'm with you on this! The amount of time i need to take our cars into get WOF's yearly is crazy, plus the cost which off the top of my head is $50-60 per car. I'm happy for the police to do a little more work, an extra couple of minutes having a walk around isn't going to kill em and i think as long as the test levels are made a little tougher and price isn't increased a great deal... i'm happy with the new law!
  14. Sick of this Japanese one and keen to get amongst the next German plate group buy... Anyone have one? Cheers
  15. Good on ya for paying her, i would have assumed by law that it would be considered training and therefore would be paid out at contracted hourly rate or minimum wage otherwise... Like John said word of mouth can travel much faster than flicking her 60ish quid. Out of interest did none of this come across in the CV, interview etc?
  16. Wow, I bet you are... and awesome stuff
  17. I'm about the same, amazed at how much extra $ we have. 84kgs, sounds healthier too me than 52kgs (for a man)
  18. Interesting read about everyones thoughts on finance/Repo's! I AP all my house hold bills, (Mortgage, Power, Phone, Sky, Rates etc) but I have a few things on tick on interest free terms and pay what i can afford this week/month as opposed to the minimum payments and like Clinton i transfer money around the time it's due, sometimes i miss a payment but because i should already be in credit i don't stress about it, this is also the same with my Credit cards etc as well. I do applaud you guys for never missing a bill though... I remember missing an old flat bill under my name for $8 to Sky that stuffed my credit up Grrr
  19. Only reason i didn't buy them is because they won't fit an e36 without quite a bit of work
  20. Thanks Mark, that was kinda the reason i was looking at them as i'm looking at e46ing soon. Cheers, I have 18x9's (late et20's by memory) on it currently and like your 9.5's are a little snug also.
  21. Quite keen, how do they fit in the guards? Any touching under load? Cheers
  22. Would E46M3 rims (18x8 Front ET47 18x9 Rear ET26) fit my E36 without guard work? Cheers guys
  23. Could also be from moisture build up from not having a decent run in a while! Awesome write up though dude, perfect from someone outside of town looking at this car

    smartphones

I gave up on istuff after loads of drama with my 3GS and 4... now have an Huawei X5 running ICS which at a 3rd of the price (then) was so much more value then the iphone. I have officially given up on Apple and actually have a Macbook pro that's been sitting for a few months that won't start up
  25. Random because i have had pretty much the same thing happen in my kitchen! I thought it was the electrician that installed our lights fault but as it turns out it was (like the others said) a bad batch of lights that Mitre 10 mega had for sale and many blew and were returned. I did buy some of those cheap LED's off DX but found the light to not be sufficient enough (but they didn't blow) so ended up biting the bullet and bought these http://www.philips.co.nz/c/spotspecial-led-light/28393/cat/ ones. Dont regret it as the lighting is really sharp and not an annoying white like the others were.
