  6. Hey guys, is this anyones here or does anyone know this car? Quite keen on it, love the Boston green and seems immaculate! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=564403899
  7. I'm gonna have a look tomorrow, if it's rough i'll throw him a number reflecting that... could be a good project at the right price! Did you guys notice anything particular about it? Thanks mate but i'm just looking locally right now
  8. Thanks Toby, I'm trying to convince myself that the V8 is the way to go but can't really justify it as it will eventually become a daily... just trying to suss out any typical faults (or about to faults) before commiting.
  9. Hey guys, i'm looking at buying one of these. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-563806072.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-559573242.htm I've noticed that e39's tend to have a few things that require maintenance so thought i should ask what to look out for when checking them over?
  10. Fine for me too, great job getting it back up and running boys!
  11. I had a similar problem on my old e36, one of the small fuel lines had perished and was leaking slightly, the smell was being sucked through the air vents into the car... I don't know much about the e39 but could be something similar. Maybe start it cold and have a sniff around the engine bay
  12. I don't get this post! Was it too criticise this car or to ask others whether it was genuine or not!?
  13. WOF's in general are a PITA (mine) at one time i had 4 vehicles and orchestrating WOF times sucked for me! Right now I only have 2 vehicles but both IMO only need checked once a year. 1 - My Subaru Wagon has been rebuilt from the ground up and is in better nick now then probably new 2 - The e36 is clean and well maintained for it's age and having just ticked over 125000kms this weekend still has a few more to go (touch wood) As with anything and everything the government enforces upon us, i'll try and abide
  14. Welcome mate, for $300 you cant go wrong! Pics of the Stingray? My fave gen
  15. This ^^^ John Clees once said; "Wine is wonderful stuff. But so many people are put off by the snobbery of it." ...
  16. Welcome back Brian, Glad to hear all is ok
  17. Welcome brah, with a few more members we may even be able to hold our own meet soon!
  18. This actually happened to my brother inlaw the other day, he tried some rims on his car that he was looking at buying off TM and went for a drive around the block and was stopped by the cops for appearing to have to much stretch, turns out it did by 10mm and the Police were gonna sticker him until he explained the situation and that his legal rims were a few hundred metres away... they followed to be sure and told the guy selling them that they are illegal, Bro in law bought them at a discounted price thanks to the police too.
  19. I had this same problem on my Subaru door a couple of years ago, nearly new paint too I did some research and tried a few things (Claybar, Desolve it) I eventually tried a good cut and polish then tried a Meguiars product QuikWax, SwirlX or something like that with a polisher then another wash, cut and polish it came up good as new... so much so i had to do the rest of the car because it seemed dull.

  21. I would doubt she will even be stopped by customs for having a few electronic devices. I have been overseas at least 3 times in the past couple of years and brought back updated laptops, ipads and phones (all at the same time and still with my old gear in my luggage) and were never stopped (even with packaging) also my brother brought back 4 iphone 4s' for some of my family from the States last Christmas and was not stopped either... maybe if they stopped her and searched her gear, they may question her but i doubt they would.
  22. A Teenage kid I worked with had a little under 50K in fines converted to 350 hours community service and i've probably worked with another 2 or 3 whose fines were in the tens of thousands and also got the fines converted to community service. Most of these fines are based around cars and licenses etc and i can't even be bothered bringing up about how crap our justice system is.
