  1. A little sobering to think 12 months later my budget for this has more than doubled... At least my house has 'gone up' $300K

Its like the universe is trying to talk me out of an E30 and into an E24: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3328522439?bof=O1LBIznl https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3331187718?bof=WAO790Nu Both oldies though (1979 / E12 based) but that second one is amazingly clean - wonder what the reserve is 🤔 A bit big and old for me, but I really love the look!
  3. The best time to buy an E30 or House in Auckland is "Two years ago" You can't drive a house but you can kind of sleep in an E30.
  4. Yeah, My E46 is there as we speak so going to pick his brain a little when I pick it up 😎
  5. Quite spendy I would think these days, especially if needing a workshop to do it (I would). Was thinking about this route (put a 24v in an auto 318i) if I can't find a manual 325i 2 door... not sure if it would be any more cost effective though.
  6. M54 in an E30 would be wicked - is it a trickier install with the drive by wire throttle though?
  7. And same spec (3 Estoril 328i Coupes with Ivory leather in short time!) but with only 60km for a few K more…still auto though. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3310166799.htm
  8. I must admit, I had scanned their products in my 'pre build' planning (I quite like their slotted gear knob) but think I'll just end up manning up and getting a $$$$$ Mtech 1 or 2 370mm.
  9. Ahhhhh I wondered if it was that same one, been for sale off and on over past 18 months or so I think?
  10. Positively raining cars the last 24 hours - I'm guessing TM was doing free listings? Most interesting to see how these go: @E28E30 Twinning? Manual Red 320i SE sedan in very clean albeit not perfect shape (needs chrome grill and a wheel cap): https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3325636411?bof=ZXytWsBd And I'm eagerly awaiting images of this silver manual 320i SE 2 door - UK import but has been here since 1993: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/320i/listing/3325927365?bof=oOiIhbKX
  11. $18K that car looks rough as IMO, given thats what I'll probably sell mine for.
  12. Was definitely the cause of a noisy / grindy sound behind wheel - hoping it tightens up the steering the last little bit too.
  13. @Eagle where did you source the upper coupling? was thinking of replacing mine as it still had a little play after doing the lower (poly) coupler and tierods. Its actually in the shop to get it looked at (and new RTABs) and turned out to be a busted bearing inside the steering column so replacement column going in - be interested to see how much better it feels next week...

    I know someone looking 😎
  15. Join the club Whats your general budget? FB groups are a good place to look as well - theres a guy who has been looking to move on a tidy looking M52B28 swapped sedan for a while there. @BMTHUG is a good man for working on E30's - workshop on North Shore.

    Recaros for E30

@Ghost Chip Kind of loud pattern, but probably the cleanest pair of fishnets I've seen for a while? In AKL too
  17. Dollar reserve I guess. I’m more surprised that it’s hit $23k before (presumably) anyone had even looked at it…

    Quick rant thread.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to playing in this sellers market TBH... Although I already have a about 6 people trying to buy my E46 so it goes both ways 🤣
  19. Someone manning up with a lovely looking car with a $1 reserve! https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3323766879?bof=kbiaeXTz I don't believe the B20 or auto will really hurt the value of a vert, so going to take an uneducated guess at $23K. Its in great 'cashed up boomer' spec IMO 🤣
  20. Can’t see much collector value in a low spec 320i auto sedan TBH, but you never know these days, it does look in stunning shape.
  21. Good timing with that other Really tidy Cirrus Blau 320i manual 4 door sedan (although facelift with grey cloth) seeming to have sold finally. Be interesting what this goes for - the other clean one was struggling to find a home at $12k.
  22. @Jacko Their E30 one is a classic haha
  23. I changed to square 235/40/18 on 8.5J on my E46 and prefer it (although it did have undersized tyres on when I got it - E82 sizes). I find it feels a little livelier in the rear (far less understeer) but for day to day driving, it is susceptible to tramlining more.
