  1. Just about anything these days would need reupholstering, some Recaro Fishnets / LX similar could be a period correct option on factory rails reupholstered in BMW fabric if you are not too concerned with originality. Far more readily available in varying levels of condition from $300-$1000.
  2. Even if genuine thought it was a little speculative given the state of the interior.
  3. Went for $18,100. These auctions seem to be going very well for nice cars, think I'll auction my E46 when the time comes.
  4. Damn those reviews on the Hydrophobic snow foam are amazing - might have to give it a hoon - I already have their hydrophobic shampoo which is good stuff.
  5. Another vote for Menzerna Powerlock - its a great product. Lately I've been seduced to the dark side of easy apply spray sealants - currently using CarPro Elixer but will likely get some of their Hydrolite once my bottle of Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic runs out (also a good product - smells nice and can be buffed on or sprayed and hosed off). Ceramic coatings are technically superior, but I tend to wax my car very regularly so maximum longevity is less important to me.
  6. Nice - remember seeing this on Trade Me a few times - this thing must rip!!
  7. We don’t need your stinking SUVs anyway 🤣
  8. Prep is critical, I did a full refinish and it still looks fantastic 18 months later. It it’s just a bit of bolster wear the colour lock products previously recommended are good too but colour match could be an issue with 20 year old leather.
  9. Cracked $16K! looked a lovely car though
  10. It also had chrome 18's and looked like it had been painted purple with housepaint haha
  11. @BM WORLD had proper, quality one a while back, not sure if it sold or not. Consensus I've heard is not worth messing around with an SC14 on a 3 litre.
  12. Previous owners have a lot to answer for!
  13. $6k would be good buying in this market, assuming no rust or other hidden gremlins. Facelift coupe FTW
  14. Depends on how much you want to spend obviously - for occasional DIY use, I have these in a 1/2" and 1/4" (to cover wide nm range on a budget) https://www.bunnings.co.nz/kincrome-1-2-micrometer-torque-wrench_p0227823 Seem fine for someone who does minor DIY and outsources the bigger jobs - if you're more serious about wrenching would be worth investing in higher quality.
  15. Love how focused this build is - no faff and bling, just quality bits to make the car better 😎
  16. @Blackie we *need* a showroom thread for your beauty Edit: duh - just saw the youtube link!
  17. Meanwhile, in LaLa Land… https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3236522882.htm
  18. Like a squinting Rav-4
  19. About the same price inflation as an Auckland house since 2015 🤔
  20. Same thing as what is happening / happened with JDM cars - people wanting something a little different / old school and it seems older cars are no longer looked down on as 'cheaper' so making it cooler to not have a newer version. Largely fueled by Youtube hype / Nostalgia as Driftit says. Plus these people having a bit of coin now / feeling confident because their equity has shot up and the bank is bending over to hand out 'cheap' debt. Personally, sign me up on joining the Hype train and paying 'through the nose for an old, slow, unsafe car in need of work - there's nothing modern that really interests me for under $30k.
  21. Oh I really like this! Some clean E36 been fetching good money lately.
  22. @E28E30 Had forgot about that one - to be fair though, that is leagues ahead of most of the stuff that's hit the market 👌
  23. With these asking prices going a little bit silly lately, has anyone actually seen a Non M325i or M3 crack $20K in the past 12 months? I follow what I can see publicly but can only recall the stunning Red 318is going for about $22K. There was a Silver 325i 2 Door with a 1UZ V8 asking $20k last year that presumably sold for close too it as well.
  24. The seats? Might be those LSeat covers or something, certainly look a little baggy.
