Got the car back, halfcage is all done and looks fantastic, very happy with it. Wasted no time and got straight into installing the doubler plates for the transmission tunnel to mount the seatbelts, to LVV cert standards. Took a while to do, had to remove half the exhaust and then try locate the hole which is tricky to do without any reference points. Got there eventually, used 5mm bolts with spring washers instead of Monel rivets as it was much easier to do and still up to LVV spec. Plates have metal to metal contact, sound deadening was removed and the area was etch primed and painted to prevent rust. Used holes on the diagonal in the direction of seatbelt pull, as described in the LVV handbook. now onto masking the interior and painting the halfcage... slowly getting there

wrong one sorry, different numbers

Got some photos from Ray (Chubb racing Ltd) who's doing my rollbar/halfcage, its looking great so far, really friendly/helpful guy would definitely recommend him to anyone looking into getting any sort of cage done, all to MSNZ spec.

First mock up of the new seats, only done drivers side very roughly before it started raining again, really need to get a garage...

I have a CCC unit form a 2008 135i, I will check for the part number

have removed the factory CCC iDrive unit, and want to run an aux straight to the factory speakers, either through an aftermarket amp or the stock amp, don't want any headhunt in the car, just the aux. Have searched all over the internet and been to audio shops but nobody seems to have an information on this.

Can anyone recommend someone that knows their stuff about BMW audio in Auckland, need some rather unique/unusual work done on my car. Cheers

Now that im pretty happy with the exterior and handling, aside from needing some bigger swaybars, Ive made a start on the interior. The overall goal for this car is to build what is my interpretation of the 135i cs that bmw never built, so I started tearing apart the interior today for some major changes coming very soon.

From what I understand harnesses are only street legal with a full cage, complete airbag removal and motorsport authority card but I may have misinterpreted the rules. Will be getting a harness bar as a part of the half cage to keep the option for track use etc.

sweet thanks a lot for the info, much appreciated. From talking to a certifier ive come to the conclusion that the most straightforward method is to use nzkw bases and mount the receptacle to the transmission tunnel to NZTA/LVVC standards. I won't be using sliders as I don't need rear seat access and im the only driver of the car so that keeps things simple too. I will be using Sparco Rev art seats, and will get matching FIA spec side brackets to make sure all the parts are of a reasonable quality to ensure safety. Then should just be a matter of coding the airbags. The other end of the seat belt shouldnt be a problem? Cheers,

Sorry should have added, the car will not have any rear seats, its getting a half cage fitted before cert, seats won't be on sliders. Main concern is what bases can I use that will pass NZ cert. My bad should've worded my question more clearly, appreciate the response none the less. cheers

Anyone here successfully managed to get aftermarket fixed back seats carted in an e90/e82 chassis? My main question is around what is required to pass cert in relation to seat base and seat belt buckle anchorage, since it is originally mounted to the seat. Any help is much appreciated, cheers

Some more photos of the car as it sits now, very happy with the exterior except for maybe a front lip or different front bumper in the future... on to the interior next.

My wheels arrived, delivered straight away by auto form to my work, great customer service. Went with a square set of 235/40/18 tires, decided to go with the Hankook Ventus R-S4 as I have heard many good things about it being a reasonably long lasting grippy semi slick, and managed to get them for $280 a corner through a sale on hyperdrive. Got them fitted and balanced and no scratches on the new wheels which I was very relieved about. Got the m4 brakes mounted on the car with the seems legit garage adapters. Was a pretty straight forward install, just took some trimming of the heat/dust shields, especially on the rear. I ended up cutting a quarter of the front heatshields out to allow the brake ducting to be more effective on the front. The front brakes I used the factory brake ones, the rear brakes I used the m4 ones as they are slightly longer, to account for the much larger discs. As far as sensors go, I have left the original 135i wear sensors and zipped them out of the way, in fitter I may splice the m4 sensors into the 135i plugs. Gave the brakes a bleed with some fresh mogul rbf600. So far it all works great, and looks fantastic with the new wheels, just needs a wheel alignment now. Took the car out for some photos.

Selling my brakes off my 135i, as I no longer need them. Same callipers as e46 M performance BBK which sells for over 4k. Can get more photos if required. $900

Selling my stock e82 135i wheels as they no longer fit my car. Wheels have curbing, and rear have scratches from tires being fitted/removed, would benefit from a refurb. Come with 2x good tread front tires mounted, 2x no good semi slick rear tires mounted which can be used for skids/burnouts and 2x good tread rear tires to put on once you've had your fun. Alternatively, if you aren't partial to a skid, I can get the good tires fitted to the rear before sale. Tires are stock sizes, 215/40/18, 245/35/18 F/R. Wheels are 18x7.5 et49 and 18x8.5 et52 staggered. Burnout tires are 245/40/18. Will get better photos soon $650, have no more use for them and they're taking up space.

Yeah Id imagine so, good brakes for sure! CSL wheels are beautiful, used to have a set on my car, albeit reps as I wanted 18s, now running apex wheels for greater brake clearance. Beautiful car you have by the way!
-
Yeah will update the thread once ive put them to use for a bit, I did do 2 decent layers of a 2K clearcoat so should have decent protection. Still waiting on wheels to arrive and to get tires sorted so I can finally get these brakes fitted.

sweet, cheers for the replies and recommendations!

thank you! I went to a local auto paint supplier, this one was called car colours, brought in the brake caliper and used what they recommended. I used a generic high temp paint as a primer, then got the auto paint supplier to custom tint a spray can in estoril blue, and then I used a 2K clear over the top after putting on the decal, which I ordered off a website in England. The true test will be to see how it lasts, but at least for now it looks good! brake calliper decals from here: https://www.brakecaliperdecals.co.uk/BMW-Decals/BMW-M-Brake-Caliper-Decals

Wheres the best place in auckland to go to get some AN lines made for a custom oil cooler setup. The parts are easy enough to source from racleab, NZKW etc but not sure how/where to get the hoses made, i.e fitting attached etc. Any advice appreciated, cheers

Finished the rebuild of the front left brake calliper. Fresh boots, a good clean, and fresh paint, decal and clear coat. Very happy with how the paint came out, for anyone wondering the m4 brake colour is Estoril blue.

yeah would want to get it checked over before hand for sure
