I am considering purchasing a car (not a bmw unfortunately) that is located in Wellington, I am in Auckland. Is there anyone on this forum that would be willing to go have a look at it for me, can never judge paint conditon from photos, have a look for any damage, scratches, dents etc as well as maybe a quick check to see if there’s any oil pouring out the bottom, potentially even a quick test drive, make sure interior features work, no funny smells etc. Happy to supply some beers for the hassle.

Yes, I used to own a n47, 123d, and that needed timing chains done before it got to 200k kms. And I know about bearing failure all too well… spun a rod bearing in my 135i. Replaced the entire engine. Wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. Good to hear that the n57 seem to be better reliability wise, however I would still be slightly wary as I have seen multiple for sale with around 200k kms that have had Engines replaced due to various catastrophic failures. But a lot of that comes down to maintenance as well.

It is a whole lot of fun. Single mass flywheel, 550i clutch, and a 3.18 ratio quaife lsd, drives like a go kart

If you have any questions feel free to pm me. I have recently manual swapped my 135i, I used a gs6-53bz box out of a factory manual 135i. It’s really not too hard at all. works like a factory manual cad, cruise control works, reverse lights, mirror dips when put into reverse etc.

Receipt for intake manifold replacement, brake pads, oil change etc. car will come with e90 m3 paddleshift steering wheel fitted for asking price. Will try get more photos over the weekend

Depends on the car, but ideally something on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but must be a wagon. Don’t mind something that needs some work.

All major work was done under previous ownership. In my ownership I’ve replaced front radius arm bushings and front brake lines, no other issues I’m aware of, got a fresh wof about a month ago. previous ownership had major work done, timing chains/tensioners etc, sump gasket valve cover gasket… Have got parts invoice to prove it. previous owner said intake manifold, egr and a few other things had also been done, I can try contact the workshop and see if they have receipts for it still.

Considering selling my 2008 123d as I am after a slightly bigger car. Has done 191xxx kms. would consider swaps + cash your way for a 330/335d or x3 30d (f25). has had timing chain/tensioners done early this year so no issues there. Had a whole bunch of other work too (all done under previous owners ownership). has been a fantastic reliable daily driver that is great on fuel. (6.2L/100km) and plenty of power when needed. has given me no issues only thinking of selling as I would like another wagon or an SUV. $9000 Ono.

I appreciate the offer but looking for something newer unfortunately

Looking for a new project, so not something without issues, but must be reflected in price. Preferably a 6cyl diesel M-sport wagon, 325d, 330d, 335d etc, e90 or newer preferred. Can have engine issues, other mechanical issues, blown turbos, mild accident damage etc. Dont mind higher kms. Cheers.

Been slacking on keeping up with the progress here. Manual swap is all done now, was all reasonably straight forward. Installed a lightened SMF, 550i clutch, all new shifter bushings, m performance short shift kit, braided clutchline, removed the CDV and swapped to a large case 3.08diff with a Quaife ATB LSD in it. Everything works like an OEM manual car, no lights, no errors, cruise control works, reverse lights, mirror dips when going into reverse etc.

Just the 4 wires for the clutch switch correct? One ground, one to pin 18 on ecu, one to pin 3 on CAS and one to pin 41 on CAS? had another look at the clutch line routing tonight, don’t see how I’m going to route the hardline through there, no room whatsoever struggling to even get a welding wire through behind the AC box. maybe I’m doing something wrong… wiring loom takes up pretty much all real estate (looking from passenger side). HEL make a nice soft clutch line for e82 RHD. Might order one of those, but any tips/advice for how you routed the hardline would be appreciated.
