  1. Surprised no one’s pulled the engine yet. Nothing like a s85 with unknown history/condition
  2. Will keep you in mind cheers, need to find a medium case diff first.
  3. The f30s are great cars, and the diesel ones are really economical as far as fuel consumptions goes. One thing to be aware of is the n series engines timing chain issues, which although potentially fatal if ignored for too long I find are blown out of proportion slightly when discussed online, however good to be aware of nonetheless. It really depends on what you’re using the car for in my opinion, if you drive mostly around the 4cyl would be perfectly fine as you don’t really need much power torque. For more open road driving the extra power really becomes worthwhile. Another thing to bear in my mind is the fact that diesels don’t enjoy short trips to the shops and back, they require some open road, hot running. I’ve got a tuned 135i, which is a fast fun small coupe, and I’ve owned a 330d wagon (e91) and found that to be a great second car to have as it made adequate power to be fun and not feel too boring and sluggish when stepping out of the 135i after a weekend drive. Personally I would lean towards the 6cyl option if you can find one in the right spec/condition within your budget.
  4. Yeah looks like a m52. Same swap I’m currently doing into my e30 but without the cage.
  5. Search up Brando Marlon on facebook, pretty sure he’s got a couple. Usually pretty reasonably priced too.
  6. Bump, $350 Ono have too many e30 parts lying around, have 3.45 open diff, m20b20 intake manifold, airbox, maf, injectors, fuel rail, loom etc etc
  7. Open diff, 3.45 ratio. $350 pick up Auckland.
  8. 75hp gain is good going, guess it’s the same engine as 328i? Wonder how the timing chain/guides likes it
  9. Send me a message if you do have it, was hoping to find an lsd but could be interested
  10. Looking for a medium case lsd for an e30 in a ratio for suit a non overdriven gearbox, around the 3 mark (2.93/3.15). cheers
  11. Selling my 14inch basketweaves. have curving, have been repainted by previous owner at some stage. All 4 Center caps are there, not the ugly 3D printed ones. no longer required. 2 tires good, 2 no good. $900obo.
  12. Awesome, that really good information. Ride height looks exactly like what I’m after so that’s perfect. In terms of the shocks themselves oem plus is great, the e30 I’m building will only ever be a street car and never get pushed too hard, have the 135i for that. Will be used for the occasional spirited drive but mostly for a road trip or a cruise down to the beach so sounds like exactly what I’m after and not a bad price at sub $900 for shocks and springs. In terms of weight the m52 is about the same if not slightly lighter than the m20b25 as it’s an alloy block.
  13. Yeah saw that one, wild pricing. I’ll be listing mine up for $60k once it’s finished 🤣
  14. Yep that makes a lot of sense. Will head to bmw and see if they can get me the correct part. Thanks for clearing that up, and providing the part number I need!

    M325I M-tech 1 E30

Could be interested in tech 1 kit potentially.
  16. Starting to put my e30 back together but having an issue with the clutch master feed line from the reservoir rubbing/interfering with the brake linkage rod that runs across to the booster. I’m using the oem hose (from pelican parts) and the oem elbow, Sachs clutch master.
  17. I’ve worked out apparently a e90 325i auto front half fits so getting one of those from a wrecker and then a e36 rear half. yeah unfortunately do need driveshaft hoops despite increasing power by only 49.9%. Spoke to my certifier and he said will need hoops regardless of power increase as the engine and gearbox I’m using were never offered from factory in this car.
  18. Still looking for an e36 zf front half.

    Elias’ E30 project

Installed a bunch of sound deadening in the floor of the car in an effort to keep this one more comfortable and street friendly than the 135i… installed the clutch master as well, now that I have the feed line, only to find that it runs the brake linkage. Turns out there’s meant to be an elbow fitting in the master not a straight fitting that my pedal box came with, luckily Peter from P&S auto has an elbow in stock so off to there after work then to give it another go
  20. Looking for one of these bmw 21521151697 connects the feed hose to the clutch master on an e30/34 etc
  21. Yeah, I think it should still be fun NA. Have a look on Facebook, there’s a couple of e30 groups where there’s usually someone that has what you’re after. if you do decide to go with a zf box, prepare to pay good $$ for driveshaft and diff. as far as wiring goes, if you’re in Auckland, Luke from skunk works has done plenty of these swaps and offers a wiring service if you supply the m52 loom to make it work in an e30.
  22. I’m currently doing m52b28 into pfl Sedan. But keeping it Na. I’d imagine for a turbo set up steering column clearance will be fairly tight trying to get a decent size downpipe down there without the manifold getting in the way. You’ll obviously need a front sump, dipstick, pickup tube, e34 m50 parts. You’ll also want to use a zf 5 Speed box, which means you’ll need a lower ratio (~3.15) medium case diff. Not sure how strong axles are either with holding up to boost, maybe 325i ones will be strong enough? may even want to look into reinforcing rear arms, front subframe etc. don’t know if you have the e30 already or not but budget a decent amount of money to just get the shell up to spec, most likely will need rust work, and you’d want to replace all the 40 year old bushings under the car and refresh the brakes and suspension as well. definitely not a cheap exercise to do properly, mine being NA is already getting rather expensive…
  23. Yeah I think it’s a zf front half from an n52 powered car. Maybe worth looking into. Let me know how you get on!
