  1. Yeah each to their own, there are at least two kinds of E30 lovers. I am a boring “factory” look type.
  2. MTech1 in Heathcote Valley in Christchurch. 220kms, appears to live outside 😕 gorgeous colour and the urge to leave a note to buy is high!
  3. Ohhhh! Thanks Sam @Sammo You know I always pay more for red @BMTHUG
  4. @BMTHUG and @Gaz love to see photos of your verts
  5. I hate that stuff, hmm
  6. Was free listings yesterday @Sammo I saw that SE, 320i v my 325i but did do a double take! If I could magic it’s gearbox across to mine… The silver SE used to be listed quite frequently this/last year. The seller wanted $12-13k back then but this was before E30-ageddon. It was tidy, had minor rust I think
  7. Wow dogleg and all! Interesting car, in great condition. I had heard about these…

    1990 E30 325i SE

Hmmm itchy trigger finger notes “Silver SE could be prized out of Adro’s @adro hands…”
  9. Some inspiration for you @Sammo
  10. It is a bit “each to their own” hehe. I don’t rate the looks of pre-LCI E39s or non-Motorsport E39s generally, so it at least has those two things going for it. This seems to be all about the kit, with no evidence of AC Schnizter mechanical gubbins under the hood. But back in the day it would have been just the thing
  11. It looks nice, less the wheels and plate (for me anyway). These things are about to go ballistic price-wise too I think
  12. @Olaf thank you, you’re a great resource for people here. I also would NEVER use Car Inspection Services,. Back in 2004 I bought a low mileage E30 LCI 316i for $4k (those were the days and that was a lot of money), they seemed to not pick up a power steering rack that spewed fluid out at almost the same rate you topped it up, and a blown/faulty idle control thingy. Sharks
  13. Think mine is even less since I bought it. Now at 162xxx
  14. Must be twins! That sounds annoying about the VIN. What mileage is your beautiful silver beast at now?
  15. I am sometimes risk averse but after a couple of wines bought my E30, but I had seen it in the flesh and driven it. Also drove that red M Tech2 that went for $62k before settling in to bid with a wine in hand, then being greatly blown out of the water, made for entertainment at least. Reckon there’s enough Forum members around the country to go have a look for you, assume it is out of Auckland otherwise you’d be able to have a Level 3 “picnic” and view while socially distancing. I am not mechanically minded, but the experts here tell me they’re easy to work on if you are, so does it come down then to the “price v rust”? equation as if the body is sound and it’s cheap enough, does the mechanical stuff matter AS much? I can sell you a lovely 4 door 😉 but suspect you’re after a manual and a coupe, which I am now too. @Olaf and @_ethrty-Andy_ and @Ghost Chip what does your experience advise @Sammo?
  16. It is a great Touring!
  17. First WoF in my ownership today; held breath for the whole thing, flew threw 😰. First time I had a look underneath properly and found source of occasional oil drip (loose oil filter / sump plug seal). No rust, breathing out!
  18. Thanks man! It is Peter’s old car
  19. Hi @nick496 do you know if your car was first based in Christchurch when imported back in the 1990s? I think it might have been my friend’s Dad’s one, he loved it!
