They low down torque of the big twins just smokes the inline 4's off the line and out of corners without having to rev the sh*t out of it to red line. Your charts and dynos might say otherwise, but go take a 1098 or something and take it out against a R1 or ZX10r, yeah the jap bikes will have it in the top end, but low down I dont think they can compete.

Last year i think it was when i got them.
-
Honestly i tryed ebc and they are complete rubbish.
-
Honestly they are f**king hopeless. i usually ring them once the tracking shows its waiting for customs clearance. I dont mind paying the gst, but having to wait an extra two weeks is unacceptable

I got mine done at waikato clutch and brake. they did rip me off last time and wouldn't fix their f**k up or refund me. But before that they have done multiple clutches for me and friends and they have been great. i had sachs pressure plate resprung and repivoted, clutch relined and flywheel ground, new pilot and throw out bearings. was around $600 mark. just told them what i was doing and they figured it out from there. Last time i dynoed was around the 300wkw mark and the clutch has never given any trouble, its also not stupidly heavy. i previously had a carbon Kevlar disc with a stupidly heavy pressure plate. brought off someone on here, i think it was a f1 racing stage 2 or 3, whatever they call it. anyway it was terrible, handled a NA m50 alright but soon as the turbo went on and starting tuning it, it let go at low power. pedal also heavy as fuarrk

you will need an amplifier and as many analog inputs as you want thermocouples. unless the link will accept a can expander / thermocouple amplifier.
-
No I'm actually interested in what you have to say, as I have been through this with my own car and ended going back to a factory radiator and its fine. The only reason I originally "upgraded" it to a fenix radiator was because the power steering pump munched the old one. The fenix one was rubbish... I would google it, but as you know, the results can be misleading.
-
Depends how many analog inputs your ecu has. that aem controller outputs each afr signal as a 0-5v analog. so you'll need at least 6 analog inputs for that. and then for the thermocouples, if your ecu cannot take them directly (unlikely ) youll need an amplifier and another 6 analog inputs for the egts. Link g4 extreme has 11 analog inputs and im not sure if that's incl your tps, map, coolant and air temp sensors. if you incl oil pressure and temperature, fuel pressure etc you start eating up your analog inputs pretty quick.

Hot water comes out of engine, and with any luck cool(er) water goes back in?
-
Not sure i could be bothered with that many o2 sensors. if it was me and inclined that way would prob go single o2 sensor and individual egt's. but thats just me.
-
In what way? increasing power output will increase heat output, so generally a bigger radiator will be needed. though ive generally found bmw radiators to be quite big and good from the factory.

Looking badass with covers off. Does that say get murked on the windscreen? haha
-
Cool. I really like the m42 engines.
-
Wouldnt own or recommend one my self. But he somehow ended up with it haha.

sweet, so they run a separate vacuum pump instead of engine vacuum? I havent delt with this new fang dangeled stuff Will pass it on, hes in aussie. cheers for the insight.
-
its a mates e46 318. not really familiar with their vacuum setup or how its supposed to work / how the oil got there. I suppose you see it quite often?
-
Don't forget to change your brake booster oil. Brakes working a lot better with some fresh oil in there now..
-
On another note, I have a set of good DK motors, ecu's, MAF's and such things if anyone is looking for stuff like that.

The local murrays want their land back and in the process demolishing the building so I have to downscale on a few things, princess was at the end of her life anyway. But parts of her will live on. A friend wanted the roof for his own E28 project, so the roof was removed. She was then flipped on her side for removal of the diff and engine/gearbox. Is anyone looking for a V12 auto box? Princess is now a husk, pushed into the bushes with a bobcat and waiting for the scrappy to come pick her up. It was fun while it lasted. I think I had just as much fun building her as I did destroying her.
-
I would think if someone's going to bother doing a m54 swap they'd go for the 3l.
-
looks like s85
-
Yeah, the V12's are too lazy for the cars looks and dosent sound right. At least the V8 ones make the right noise, just need a bit more power. S62 would of been good.
-
a lot of those were late model cars, wonder why they were getting crushed.
-
That circuit board is repairable, and if you can get your AFR closer to 12.5ish you should pick up a bit more power. 11:1 is filthy rich, especially for a NA car.
