Yep it can get pretty scary, I dont mind it during the day but at night when you cant see a thing and travelling by instruments only is a different story. Wasnt too bad this week but we were without GPS as it crapped out before we even left. So we were travelling at night via charts/compass and radar.

You will have to double check the stainless not triggering the hall effect sensor you have. The ones I've used in dairy automation have triggered on stainless. -
After we have finished making it worse than it already is we can burn it.

Yeah there is the 12v71 which is a monster. I just think the 8v92 sounded so good, especially when marinised and having wet exhausts. Super charged, twin turbo. Either way, I think 2 strokes are so cool, especially diesel 2 strokes.

yeah in the 240 1:1 is 4th gear. with a 2.9 youll have quite long legs. not sure what your car will have originally, if it was a 320 or 318 auto it prob has something around a 4.45 which will make it rev quite high. I have a 3.64 with a 240 and its about right for me.

I have a bit of paper somewhere as I had all the m54 stuff, different m52 and m50 vanos/non vanos and I had measured all the rods and pistons and worked out the different combinations. I'll try find it.

If you do, is it easy enough to do an outer shell / mold? Then I could print sacrificial mould, that could be filled with resin or some other material, the the mold could be destroyed /removed.
