last page, last post bro. It's a fuel issue. /thread

Buy the best example you can. ie Estoril blue one. Comply drive & enjoy it. Once your bank balance recovers then look at more power. better than a cheap example that sits in your shed for years gathering dust as you work through a plethora of issues trying to locate the rare parts needed to get to how your want it.

Not much more to elaborate. Only when I'd been on the open road driving for abit. Crusing upto a red light or something I tend to coast up. As I slowed I would pop it into neutral and as the revs dropped the car would stall out. Hit the ignition and she would fire right up. Wife had a ball with the old "you stalled it!" laughing away. But I knew I didn't do anything wrong. It was ever so occasional. Then became more frequent, maybe once every few trips. So I did some research. cam up with this. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/60306-ideas-engine-cutting-out-2.html Since ive done fuel filter the pump was the next logical step.

Hey!!, your importing & supercharging my **ahelm**............ "your" 8 series aren't you?
-
Well for everyone on this forum's enjoyment. I'm on a refresh program to get the car upto scratch to get the best results from a custom tune. I'm thinking confirmation with before & after dyno runs to confirm everything. Dyno results speak for themselves.
-
Oh don't start me. Wouldn't a custom tune from Gavin @ hi velocity be better? I've been planning on a custom tune when I move to Auckland in a few months. What's the deal with this stuff?
-
interesting you say that. It felt punchier in the midrange. I put it down to I hadn't driven it in awhile and it was low on gas and empty opposed to when I normally drive it loaded up with bags / dogs & a full tank.
-
No. it's to solve the issue i had where the car after hot fast running would stall out when coasting occasionally. Research eventually put it down to fuel, since I replaced the fuel filter a couple of months back this was next on the list.

thanks! (im also addicted to the guess the car apps on my iphone)

aww man! I didn't even get a go on this one. And it was a fezza.! again again!!

agreed. I find it hard to believe the 1M would be lauded as a excellent performance package if it was unstable a such relatively low speeds like 150kph. Either someone was exaggerating or the car they were driving had an issue in the wheel / suspension department. It would be all over the internet if there was widespread issues. Not to mention the matching pictures of 1M's up tree's and hanging out of hedges.

just on this subject... would these work in e39 brake lights? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/bulbs/auction-728572727.htm

true I forgot about the E60. They made 1 E39 also. But that's just a museum piece.
-
awesome. you think that's HIS P1? it sounds like it.
-
new fuel pump, new serpentine belt, pulleys, tentioner & starter motor. Phew. Now for the cooling system.....
-
I'm going to assume you are referring to american imperial mph on this one... then the comment makes more sense.
-
really? you think BMW would produce an unstable M car ? everything gets time in the wind tunnel these days.
-
nice colour combo! (nothing better than a black on black 5 series) ...............welcome back!
-
they never do. which is strange when you see how many avant's audi sell in the RS range

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20140507-bmw-goes-ballistic yum yum give me one.

knowing now the S62 fits i think has made the e31 even more desirable as I always had questions about the power & reliability of the V12 in these. Man how epic would a tweeked S62 with manual box go in that 840. wow. dream car alright. I hope it works out for you. More 8 series rolling around in NZ the better i say.
